Why is Xbox released a day after ps3 and PC

Just wondering because every time I end up watching a play through and then regret it the next day

    Microsoft and Sony control the release dates for digital distribution on their platforms, and they only release games on certain days. Since PSN releases in North America on Tuesdays and XBLA releases on Wednesdays, it's not possible to release the game on the same day on both platforms.
