Carver Hatepreciation Thread

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Holy shit. Carver is more despicably good of a villain than I imagined him to be. He's so likeably hateable, so evilly written. And he reminds me a lot of The Governor.

Thank you Telltale for making a villain way better than the Stranger.

  • "And he reminds me a lot of The Governor." and that's why I want him dead already and start a new story arc in episode 4.

Carver is an awesome villain. He's just so calm and collected, but inside he's a fucking lunatic. The way he tortured Carlos but kept his manners was evilly "awesome" and creepy. I also like him going along with Clem's story but knowing she knew the group the whole time. Great character there TT.

  • Exactly. All that exterior calmness and manners covering up complete psychopathia, along with his little community, is what reminds me of the Comics, and even TV show, Governor. I think TG was a fantastic villain, as is Carver!

  • Carver is an excellent villain! Much better than "The Stranger". He reminds me of The Governor as well as Negan, He is completely psychotic on the inside like The Governor, but appears to Calm and Collected on the outside like Negan,

  • I'm really liking his character. Completely gives off a vibe that was present in the comments. That being said, I hate him...

I'm hoping they can do something interesting with him to avoid him becoming yet another variation of the affable sociopath running a cult-like community of survivors. Its becoming a bit cliche.

  • I have his face taped to my punching bag. Well done Telltale.

  • Same here.

  • I love his character, even though I want to put a bullet in the back of his head. He is so much better than the governor (comic and show), negan, and all the other antagonists.

I think what I like about him the most is that he's basically me if I lost all sense of morality (and grew a decade or two older). He even kinda looks like me, sorta like Luke does.

  • "Hatepreciation" Take my Like Sir !

  • I didn't want to see more of the same. Since I have read the comics already, i hope he turns out to be a little different than the governor. For all we Know, he might actually be a better option than the group we were with. If you give yourself up, he says Alvin murdered a dude. Maybe all of them were criminals. I expect the plot to be more complex than a good x evil battle. Yes, more shades of gray that completely confuse our moral predispositions. That's what made some choices so hard on s1.
