Don't listen to these people...

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Episode 2 came out and it was incredible. The fact that your group members could die at the end was fresh, intense and an improvement over "Save Carly or Doug" (though I like those too).

Nick died for me and Alvin lived. Though a lot of people said that Carlos can die. This is a lie, none of the choices at the point where Carlos is held at knife point or doing nothing at all stops him from dying.

Not really calling anybody out or trying to be rude, just saying that don't listen to these people, Carlos lives no matter what!

  • Jeez, your nick died. Did you throw him under the bus when you talked to Walter

  • I'm inclined to believe you. I have three save files and on the third I tried to get him killed off. No matter what I try, he stays alive. :/

  • Well, before the two choices came on screen, Walter said, "is he like everyone else?". I thought he meant everyone in Clem's group. So once I saw the choice I hit it right away. My bad, I guess. :/

correction *salt licks them, there's a difference

this is a person that has been salt licked

    Alt text

either you can be salt licked or you can lick the salt lick, the only way to defend yourself from a salt lick is to lick the salt lick this is why clementine lived episode 2 as demonstrated by this image

  • I remained silent when Walter asked about Nick. After he let him die, I pistol whipped him (not that hard). I felt bad because that's the last thing I did to him before he died.

  • I feel like Nick is the new guy I have to look out for... I feel I kind of owe it to Pete

.... Arghh why do I like Nick so much, he's a huge idiot who kills people but I really like him for some reason.
Hate walter for making him determinant -_-

  • I love how Larry's jaw is still sticking out.

I like the episode and determinant deaths, but it's not without it's flaws. For example, contrivance. The one time all the group have left the cabin is the one time Carver shows up. Really? Come on, Telltale. Also, it's aggressively railroady. There are no exploration or hub sections at all, and the train station doesn't count. There is only a little dialogue for each character and you don't have any choice. But I liked everuthing else. I am rather concerned that people are unwilling to critique Telltale flaws. That can only mean a deterioration of storytelling quality. Also, everyone lived in my game, luckily.

  • Yeah, but back in episode 1, we all thought that they might include hubs in episode 2 but it din't happen. I don't know if that will happen in episode 3.

  • Hubs at Carver's camp? I'm down with that.

  • I'm currently doing my 9th playthrough of Around Every Corner and I'm still finding new stuff. Detail in a Telltale game actually adds replay value instead of simply making a cooler world, as is the case with most games. The exclusion of hubs will only harm the game. Maybe they intend to replace them with branching storylines? Does including both of them consume too much time or resources? If you had to choose, which one would you pick? I think I might go for branching storylines, only because they haven't been done before in TWD.

  • It more like the love you get for a puppy... a puppy that shoots people on a whim. I mean have you seen how grateful he is for getting him the watch

  • That's what I'm planning to do :) I do a second playthrough for my youtube channel with my opposite choices. All my choices in my first playthrough are canon, I can't change them. :)

I will say it again, criticizing something you love doesn't mean you now hate it. I think that if TT is really taking fan feedback and really care about what we think, the best favor you can give to the series is to give some constructive criticism to help make the final product awesome.

  • Belan, if Nick dies because Walter does not intervene, Clem sees Walter could have saved him and is upset about it, thus, you get the option to hit Walter for what he did.

    What.

  • You get to hit him right there and then, or later? I'll have to experience this ;)

  • I know. Whenever I replay it takes me a few moments to stop staring at it.

I love how Larry's jaw is still sticking out.

  • You get to hit him when he meets back up with Carlos a few seconds later.
