Did Anyone Else Get This Impression?

I've only done one playthrough so far so i cant remember 100 percent what the dialogue was, but anyways! In the shed Nick talks about how he knows that the contraption in the room is (obviously) a still "Not fit to piss in". Then later in the episode Nick talks about how he went into business with Luke and they wound up broke.

Now am I the only one who got the impression their business was making moonshine? I cant remember If there is other dialogue that actually states what their "business" was and if there is id love to be corrected. So what all do you guys think?

    I got the feeling it might have been something underhanded, though obviously not enough to earn Luke the ire of the others. Not sure if Luke met Pete through Nick or viceversa, and I think it does sorta matter
