Something That Crossed My Mind And I Wanted To Share...

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Okay,so,if anyone is actually reading this,i was just thinking...Notice how character deaths in season 2 are different from the ones in season 1?I mean, seriously. In season 1,there was always this...DIVERGENCE.Character deaths were not determined by the player...Well,yeah,you could choose who to save, but that character still dies...But in season 2,the character deaths are still major parts in the story, and could be prevented or caused by the player, which is amazing.I think Telltale is trying to improve the gameplay a LOT.I wonder,if,for example, you prevented Nick's death,is he still gonna die, only later?Or will he live til the end?And Alvin...Is he gonna die, too?I think this might be the cause of some delays, although i'm not really comfortable with bringing them up again...But it might be true, right?I mean, there are more variables in the story,so it's harder to make the game visually pleasant, and also have a great story, and have all the voice acting awesome and syncing and shit...That's what i think, and i am impressed. But,hey! What do i know about these things anyway?I just anted to share my thoughts with you guys.

Actually good observation i didnt even notice :D well i dont really pay attention to deaths :p nice explanation
or Determinate characters for that matter

  • I belive most of our group will be in similar situations and you will be able to save them

  • Iorek...Iorek...

Holy shit,is that a His Dark Materials reference?

    OMG,Iorek Byrnison!

BUT,back to the subject...The question is,will the people we saved die anyway?

  • Yeah i noticed this too, it seems like your choices will have a bigger impact on the story this season (which is awesome) and I look forward to see if Telltale can keep this up for the next 3 episodes :)

  • I really hope TT have something like this in store for us. It would be great to have at least one determinant character be able to make it through the whole game if you make certain decisions.

  • I thought so too at first but, not to rain on the parade (I really hope I'm wrong), but:
    1) Nick doesn't die though, he runs away. Pete however, does die at the beginning of episode 2 (so I've heard, honestly I let him die in ep1...)
    2) Even if you save him, who's to say Alvin doesn't have a life span of five minutes in episode 3? Carver obviously hates him...

  • Don't forget that this is "shit hits the fan" - stage. AND YOURE THE ONE WHOS TURNING THE FAN

So choose wisely in which direction you wanna point that shitty fan. LOL

  • Yes, that's where I got my nickname! hahaha

  • I already want Carver dead, but if he kills my boy Al, he'll suffer.

  • Even knowing that some characters would die later, I still played like I could save them, so I did in season 2 now. I agree with you, and if Telltale is really trying to improve like you said, the game is gonna be 4x more fun and the players will have more things to discuss in different viewpoints.

  • Pretty sure Nick dies in episode 2,if you don't tell Walter he's a good man.

  • Can I ask you a Question? I've started hating Nick when he killed Matthew, how to kill Nick in Episode 2?

  • You tell Walter that Nick's just like everyone else, and Walter doesn't help Nick with the zombie, thus leading Nick to his demise.

    SAD DEMISE,MIND YOU!

  • They don't do branching stories at a level above bare minimum. Alvin and Nick will both die early, I almost guarantee it. The deaths in this season have been done before with Ben. And Ben's death had more effect on the story than our only comparable example in S2 which would be Pete. Tt isn't really being innovative, creative, or original with this approach to character deaths, they are just using it more.

  • i am agree with you

  • I am happy that you are agree ;3 Heheh

  • I really like this idea but we are only 2 episodes in so it's still highly possible anyone you can save, will die at a later date just like in season 1.
That said, I saved everyone I could in season 1, and that's how I plan to continue.
