The Watch in the Drawer *spoiler*

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

In episode two.. Nick makes mention of the watch, how he wished he remembered to take it.. All he had to remember Pete by..

As I didn't take the watch.. And I am playing another playthrough.. I am at the part where you can choose to take it or not..

I am curious to know how that conversation will go, If I in so facto.. Took the watch. The conversation with Nick I mean.. Is it taken badly if I took the watch? Like.. Am I seen as a thief? Or is there a dialog option along the lines of.. When we were packing I saw it left behind and I grabbed it thinking someone might miss it type deal..

I only want to take it if it is seen in a positive way.

Please.. Anyone who has knowledge on that.. Much appreciated!

  • Nick doesn't even question where you got it from. He smiles and says 'Really?', and is very thankful for you giving him the watch.

  • So it is not seen badly?

  • No, he's really positive and happy about it.

  • He is actually really happy if you give it to him and doesn't even ask if You stole it or not. So you get some extra points with Nick if you took the watch with you.

  • Sweet! Thanks :)

  • That's so funny that it's completely positive. Because stealing it is a sign of a 'bad Clementine' (unless you clicked it on accident) and you get rewarded. And if you don't steal, you don't get rewarded. Tricky tricky!

  • Telltale Games: encouraging children to steal since 2014

  • What happens if you take it, but don't give it to him? just don't pick any option when he talks about the watch you have

  • My boyfriend totally didn't speak to him before he walked into the house to look for food even though he took the watch in the first episode and it was just glossed over. Nothing happens.

  • Telltale trolled me with that decision.

  • Haha, yeah, the watch... I didn't take it either, and man, was I kicking myself when Nick mentioned it. :P Kinda wish I had taken it now, but at the same time, in that circumstance, I really don't think Clementine would have stolen it.

  • Iirc, I watch someone took it but didn't talk to Nick before opening the box...
I wonder if can give it later, if he's still alive.

  • Exactly what I thought. I'd rather not have the extra brownie points with Nick and be a theif. I didn't take that watch, and that won't be changing for my playthrough.

  • I wish it had been something useful like a compass, that way I'd have a reason for Clem taking it, but a watch?
Maybe it reminds her of Lee and his watch, but that's stretching it a bit.
