That's also one of my predictions... that Clem will lose all the glimpse of humanity. She will end up alone in darkness after going through some really really bad series of events. I expect a bloodbath in the upcoming episodes especially because Kenny is up for a war with Carver and we all know Kenny. When something gets into his mind only a bullet will put it out. So it will go to hell, Clem will lose a lot and will be extremely affected psychologically.
Nice idea. I really wanna see Clementine, or someone get rid of Carver. He's downright horrible. To be honest, I really want it to be Clem. It would lead to some very interesting discussions on the forums and I wonder what the character's reactions would be in-game.
There's a bunch of different ways to look at it, like for example. Maybe the blood Clem is putting on her face is Carver's blood that, when … moreshe murders him in cold blood, (presumably) gets on her face. The silhouettes of the characters could be the people "watching over her" while she does this act, take that as you will, literal, or symbolically.
Weird. EP 1 is now clementine's theme. Ep 2 is the bonnie-like theme. And currently ep 3 is like water dripping echoing, ep 4 is crickets, and ep 5 is just strong winds.
What if Clem just got the key to escape and just made it out when she can hear in the other room carver trying to rape Sarah and she has a c… morehoice to ether help her and risk going back into the cell or leave her and escape with Rebecca and go Kenny and Carlos and the rest.
that hat to me resembles he past and indicates she still has her innocents, but when she looses her innocents she looses her hat cuz it represent what she was b4, and now that she has changed, her hat is a lie so she doesent have it anymore.
I just realized in the episode 4 slide Clementine's hat is missing! We know that she treasures her hat and would do anything to keep it. Maybe she is going a bit insane at that point.
She has killed 3 people (2 are detrimental, Lee's and Stranger's) She is also responsible for the scavengers death in the beginning of S2 and if you want to get technical she inadvertently got Omid killed and detrimentally can get Alvin and Nick killed.
Now believe me I don't want Clem. to be Deranged... HOWEVER..
Maybe in Season 3 when we play as Clementine we restore our mental state? "You get to come back..." Sort of way?
It'd be interesting, as it seems what would drive Clementine into insanity is being guilt tripped which I'd know from personal experience only makes you temporarily insane. Maybe she encounters a situation where she can redeem herself and clear her guilt?
To me a mental state meltdown is just as bad as dying. Her character gives us hope in an environment where everything else in society has al… moreready crumbled apart and to see these small cracks in her personality (possibly leading to a massively sad outcome) is not how I wish her to be at the end. I would rather not even play as Clem for Season 3 (if there is one) than to play as a mentally deranged Clem who is a shadow of her former self.
The themes combined surely point out insanity, just imagine as she's going they slowly start playing added on episode by episode until she finally SNAP and loses all of her sanity, possibly becoming a person who'd kill without remorse?
Because it's obvious the 2 years on the run in the apocalypse has caused her to be hardened, so the events of this season will be enough to push her off the deep end due to guilt and the inevitable blood that will be on her hands.
This was a very good read so thank you for that. Also I listened to the episode 5 music right before bed and at one point I heard it clear as day in my dreams and I woke up practically sweating. That's some nightmare material right there. So thanks for that as well, I guess.
I agree, but Carver would have to do something horrible to Clem that would affect the player, making that option of killing him more desirable: which, I can imagine to be honest. Lets say (I personally am not a fan of this theory, but) Carver rapes Clem. That would be enough for me personally to want to finish him off.
Or another thought i just had, if it came to that decision, Clem could go about it the same way as Lee when it came to killing the St. Johns - Killing them or Walking away.
Yeah, I agree. I'm just imagining a scene in which this 'hollow' Clementine could react to a certain situation. For example:
Say Carver h… moreas been doing some horrible stuff while the group has been in his camp. But, during Amid the Ruins or something, say the group found a way out, but Carver is after them. A fight ensues, and Carver gets beaten up pretty bad (Not by Clem, say, Kenny). But Kenny stops before he can kill Carver, and decides to walk off. Clementine is then given her first truly life-changing decision: whether to finish Carver or not. If you choose to kill Carver, Clem grabs a gun or a melee weapon (Players choice) and approaches Carver. The group says, "C'mon Clem, leave him, he's a goner now anyways." But then you have some dialog options. One of the main ones could be to just shout, "NO!!" to the group, with an almost sadistic look on her face. This would leave them all in shock, and Carver gets killed by Clementine. Any thoughts?
I don't think Clem will be alone in No Going Back. We have to make five major choices each ep with effect other characters and I don't see h… moreow that's possible going alone. Maybe depending on our choices, we can choose who to take with us for the end.
Also, I have a potential theory.
What was season 1 about? I believe protecting Clem. This premise is reflected by the fact that the last 90 minutes revolve around saving her. It was about a selfish taker of human life who became selfless and saved a little girl.
Now, what is season 2 about? Well, the one thing common between ATR and AHD is the fact that Clem is kept "in the dark" about these people. They do not trust her, no matter what anyone else says. I imagine Clem is going to learn some real nasty stuff that just makes her hate herself for trusting these people; it pushes her over the edge and makes her retreat into herself and away from humanity. She won't trust herself at all anym… [view original content]
You REALLY think that TellTale would even HINT towards child molestation? C'mon now, let's be rational. No one has to worry about anything like that happening.
"The music and the war-paint gives me a feeling that Clem lost all compassion, or at least is numbed down and can only think about extractin… moreg revenge; Revenge for maybe, what Carver did to her, or to her group members." --- when you say that it makes me sick to my stomach. saying the she would want revenge for what carver did to HER. If he were to rape her, i dont know how i would.... ugh. it makes me sad just thinking about it. but if he were to rape someone i think it would be sarah. but if he were to make carlos and clem watch!? i dont know how i would react. i probly would start crying. or maby nate would do it?
There's so many horrible and terrifying theories in this thread. Despite all this, I can't help thinking Telltale are capable of creating something far worse.
Woaw great job you did here ! I like it !
The slide of the 4th chapter afraid me more than the others, cause you can recognize the shadow… more of some charater ! Kenny on the left, Matthew on the right ... Maybe the blood on the face of Clem' represent the blood of the Kenny's group and, since clem and his group came, they got only trouble ... Mabye this time, Kenny will be really dead ...
I'm with you for the last slide .. Maybe the corpse is Lee's one !
Base it off the numbers. How many women his own age are there left? Becca's with Alvin. Sarita's with Kenny. He didn't meet Bonnie. And that's it, until we get to Wellington.
Like Boromir in Lord of the Rings who went off the rails (trying to get the ring off Frodo) and then gave his life to save him. I could see that story arc of fall, remorse, and salvation being tempting for the writers.
Boromir never actually stole the ring, because as soon as he saw the disgust, fright, and disbelief on Frodo's face, he backed off and Frodo legged it. TT'd probably do something similar IF they went down that route.
By that quote I meant that Luke has feelings for Clem in a creepy pedo way. While Clem looks up to him as a role-model and slight Lee-ish fi… moregure. Him trying to make a move on Clem that ends up bad, for him or for her, who knows, and her being scarred by it. That's what I meant by what I said, hope that helps clear things up a bit.

I am scared.
Oh god no! It could actually explain the creepy music; paranoia, anxiety, terror, hallucinations... But imo it would be rather anticlimactic though certainly unexpected...
If Clem dies because of Sam, it's safe to say he'll become the most hated animal in pop culture ever. Hell, I'd restart the whole season from episode 1 just to make sure I leave the fucker alive and suffering.

The episode select music for Episodes 4 and 5 aren't necessarily indicative of Clem's state of mind in those episodes. The ones for Episodes 1, 2, and 3 could also be interpreted as being reflective of the external circumstances Clem finds herself in: ambient rainfall and her theme playing to call to mind the fact that she's the only thing left (What Remains), steady tribal drumbeats to symbolize the rising tension between the various factions (A House Divided), and heart-of-the-jungle/psychotic buzzing kinds of noises to reflect the constant danger she's in when around Carver (In Harm's Way).
There's no reason to think that the ones for Episodes 4 and 5 would be any different. Episode 4's sounds like Clem's going to be in a sort of warzone that leaves a great deal of destruction in its wake (Amid the Ruins) while the one for Episode 5 conjures up the image of Clem having to venture into a cold, mysterious, desolate place alone without any other options (No Going Back). So the situation around her is clearly going to get worse and worse for her, but it doesn't necessarily mean that her psychology will become warped or corrupted in some way.

Same here, 5 especially.
Jesus, I don't even want to think about it. But damn it, I can't seem to help it. I'm dying to know what happens next.
I think I'm just going to cry in a corner trying to hold onto MY sanity after reading this.
I don't think I can handle all of this information
I know how you feel. Sleep did not come easy to me last night.
This whole thread is inspiring me to draw some sinister scenarios.

SHE WAS SO SMAAALLLLLL AND LITTLEEEEEE
damn... the feels, those sad horrible feels... I think I would help Sarah because I would never just let carver do that to her.
Some insane human sacrifice type shit seems to be going on.

YA but shes not anymore... she is a badass

Yeah rape or not these next Episodes will most likely get really dark...

I should post my Amid the Ruins drawing sometime.
Let's not forget the dog. I think that it did more damage than what was shown.
You REALLY think that TellTale would even HINT towards child molestation? C'mon now, let's be rational. No one has to worry about anything like that happening.
This is what this thread inspired.
Are you implying the dog could have given her rabies?
That. Is. Amazing.
Yeah, um... I'm just gonna go over here and put some fresh shorts on...
Here we go again...
There's so many horrible and terrifying theories in this thread. Despite all this, I can't help thinking Telltale are capable of creating something far worse.
I am scared.
I don't know if I should be feeling annoyed or if I should be laughing since I did both. Damn, that dedication though.
Listening to the episode 5 music again at 3 in the morning in my room in the dark.....shiiit...
Lee died in a garage, didn't he? Not outside. Or have I forgotten that bit?

You're giving them ideas.
Still mind blowing to see!
Thanks!

That's one optimistic way to look at it.
(...well, slightly more optimistic than what's already been discussed.)
