Will Clem ever trust dogs again?

In case anyone else didn't notice, Clem drops a line while talking with Carver back at the mountain cabin about whether he has any dogs at his camp. This is probably a reference to her encounter with Sam in the last episode.

Clem's had some pretty unpleasant experiences so far, but Sam's attack was arguably one of the most traumatic, at least in terms of pure, ruthless betrayal. Having owned more than one dog myself, I hope the image of man's best friend will be slightly redeemed in a later episode. Maybe Clem could come across another dog who isn't rigged to explode in the same way Sam was. Clem might be initially wary at first, but (depending on the player) might either coldly turn her back on the animal, or try to reach out again. If the player chooses the latter, it WON'T result in another vicious assault, but instead a genuine moment of compassion and warmth.

  • I wouldn't. Frakking dogs man...

  • I'd trust dogs still. Just because one starving dog attacked doesn't mean every dog is going to try and eat her.

I think Clem asked if he owned a dog as the thought that Sam might have belonged to him, if she where to come into contact with another dog she would probably be nervous unless it was a puppy or very friendly.
