Placing season 2 on the map

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Well, as you may know, the first episode was setting somewhere in North Carolina owing to the presence of the Carolinian road sign in the woods.

Turning to episode 2, what can we say about the placement of the whole episode?

Well, let's take a moment to see Luke's map:

As we can see, he's looking at a map of Virginia, so we can assume they are now somewhere in or near Virginia or that Luke has no idea how to read a map.
As a result we could say that the mountains that Luke is speaking about are the Blue Ridge Mountains.

As far as this legendary Wellington is concerned there is not much to say. Now we know that it's near Michigan Lake, but that it's also a "camp" (Kenny), so looking for a town or a place with this name seems not so usefull right now.

All we can say is that it's pretty far from the group at the moment..

  • It's also written on the map. "Blue Ridge Mountains".

Anyway, if it took 16 months for Clem and Christa to reach North Carolina from Atlanta, and they will never stop or change course (things that are never ever going to happen ever) It'll take them at least 2 more years. If they ever get to wellington, I guess they'll find it already completely overrun by zeds

  • Man, it's a lot of time!

Maybe Christa and Clem stayed for most of the time somewhere in Georgia and decided to go north eventually. 16 months to reach Nort Carolina from Georgia seems pretty crazy to me.
