Luke and Clem

Maybe I'm taking this the wrong way but does anyone feel like Luke is flirting with clementine? Most of the conversation choices between them are normally overly friendly. I remember in season 1 how Lee and clems relationship was but this one seems different for some reason. Anyone else notice this or maybe I'm reading them wrong...

  • You and a surprising amount of people in here. I see them as friends, bother and sister, teasing each other. Clem's growing up, she will forge different kinds of relationships than when she was 8-9.

  • Yea but i still feel its an odd relationship since shes only 11. I noticed it the most when they would tease each other and then she would smile at him. I know its the apocalypse and all but damn Luke's shooting young lol

  • ...They're just friends.

  • Well its nice to get input. From what TheGoodTheBadTheDead said im apparently not the only one. I guess time will tell.

  • Yeah, there's a thread that vehemently opposes the idea.

  • Well, Telltale is going for the brother/sister relationship, so of course there will be some teasing here and there. Nothing too serious. Making Luke a pedo is just bad story writing in my opinion.

  • Ah ok. I'm an only child so i guess i have no idea what that is haha. Alright that clears things up a bit.

  • Yes, I agree, TTG has not done a brother-sister relationship recently, so I'd welcome that kind of relationship with open arms. And besides we already had pedos in TWD (Danny St. John and Danny from 400 Days)

  • I know where you are coming from and I can't deny some conversations between them seem a little awkward, But He's in his 20's and she's 11 So unless Luke is some sort of rapist I don't see this happening or Why it should happen for that matter.

  • I get more of a brother-sister relationship with them. I mean maybe he would if she were 10 years older, but she's not. I think he's just happy to have someone who's nice, mature, and capable even if they are just a kid. The only thing I could see maybe heading in that direction is Clem having a tiny crush on Luke, because it's pretty normal for girls her age to have "crushes" on people purely out of admiration. (Or maybe I just think that because I personally love Luke and Scott Porter in general). That being said, I don't think it will show up in the text and I hope their relationship remains within the brother-sister bounds and doesn't take that odd turn.

It's nothing creepy like that. Luke and Clem's relationship is just a lot more equalized compared to Lee and Clem's relationship from Season 1.

Lee treated Clementine like his daughter. He protected her, sheltered her, and looked out for her interest above all else. When they spoke, Lee would always get down on one knee and talk to Clem very softly, making sure she understood exactly what he was telling her. He minced his words and thought carefully about what he was about to say in order to avoid upsetting her. This was very different from the way Lee spoke to everyone else.

Luke, on the other hand, treats Clementine more like a sidekick. He'll risk his life to protect her if it comes down to it, but he won't shy away from asking her to do things that might be dangerous. And when Luke talks to Clem, he uses the same friendly, casual intonation that he uses when talking to anyone else. He doesn't talk down to her or try to coddle her. He just says exactly what's on his mind.

  • I actually have not played 400 days and danny at st john was a pedo? I know he looked weird but i did not know that

  • Just check the unused audio files from S1, he "enjoyed the company" of children who used to go to the farm.
