In the Pines

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Hey everyone! So as most of you know after completing episode 2 the credits roll to "In the Pines". Well I was listening to it and as it played my mom came by and started singing it. I was shocked so I asked her how she knew the song. Turns out my grandmother used to sing it to my mom and her sisters. Get this my mom said the song was sung for people who were DEAD/MISSING. She said they sung it for people they were never going to see again. Maybe I'm just looking into it but I see lots and lots of symbolism here. Thoughts?

EDIT: Please don't think my grandmother is a psycho who sang song about decapitated bodies to her children for fun. This was sung for when someone they knew or loved died.

  • Dang that's cool... Now just who could it be directed to?

  • Hm. Who's the only one that's missing?

Interesting! I'm looking at you, Luke... You've got a lot of explaining to do mister. Do not disappear on me for good, or die for that matter.

    Well that's...kinda dark.

  • Yeah I know right.... Didn't really know what to think about that :/

Well I know Luke, but it could be referring to Walter/Nick/Alvin/Christa/Pete, etc. Or it even could be foreshadowing to someone going missing in a later episode.

Hm. Who's the only one that's missing?
