What happened to Public version of Telltale Tools? (twd engine)

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

I mean, Custom content is good. If Telltale cancels TWD (that WILL happen sooner or later. Probably later) You can create custom stories for your favourite characters. There were plans for a public version of Telltale Tools. What happened with it?

  • The same thing that happened to the Stats trailers and The playing Dead i gues...

  • Telltale is very much anti-modding now, for whatever stupid reason. About a year ago, I made a tutorial on how to modify textures, and my thread was deleted and I was given a warning...

Guess what Telltale, the community wants mods. Get with the program.

  • Perhaps it's because if someone fucks with their game modding and they delete their game files by accident, they don't want to hear them whining.

Then again, I know next to nothing about modding.

It didn't require any real modifications to game files, though.

Yet, Bethesda Softworks have no problems with that.

OP is right, Custom content is good for both sides, players and companies. It keeps their franchise alive for years, and players can make mods with awesome stories.

If I had to take a guess, I'd say it relates more so to the fact that Telltale works on games with established franchises from other people, as opposed to the fact that they just flat out don't like modding. I'm just a community volunteer mod so my guess is as good as yours though.

  • Indeed. Telltale giving out the resources would possibly violate tons of agreements, which would pretty much fuck everything up and cancel all of their games, and would probably kill TTG.

And If they gave out the Telltale Tool without any resources, whats the point?
