Cutting off Pete's leg
I was so looking forward to cutting off Pete's leg so that he would stay alive in the beginning, but then was disappointed that he objected the idea. So my question is, how different do you think things would've been if we had been able to cut off Pete's bitten leg and he lived?

i think it would have been a lot like a lee moment for him. so in some way it wouldnt have turned out well haha.
He would of bled out and died, unless Clem had some way to clean, cauterize, and bandage it.
Pete himself said it best:
"Ah. I'll just bleed out like a stuck pig. Whaddya gonna do, carry me on your back?"
He would have bled out and died.
Clem has some basic medical skills (like the sewing of her arm), but not enough to patch up an entire leg.
The only reason Lee pulled it off in season 1 was because they were in a doctor's hideout. There were medical supplies (at least the basics).
Also, fun fact, a leg will bleed out much faster than an arm will. So while Lee had a short amount of time to get it patched, Pete would have even shorter before he died.
I almost thought they were gonna do it though.
Edit: Sorry I thought it didn't save you!
@Cman44
It does save you if it's cut in enough time. Lee would have survived if he cauterized his cut.
No, Lee died because they didn't cut it off soon enough, not because it wasn't cauterized.
I've read in several places that it was from blood loss too. I guess the only way to really back this up is if you don't cut it he looks greener and more zombie like. If you cut it off, he looks more-so washed out in color and in general just tired.
