I think a list of more non-subjective/divisive things would be best, so:

    • Better graphics

    • Run button

    • Transfer of Clementine

Some people like Ben and many people don't like Kenny so I don't think we can include them in the list

  • lol just run botton

    Run button

  • More story branches. Alvin and Nick are determent characters.

And if Telltale promises more, I will want to hug somebody.

    1. Better graphics and framerate

    2. Run button

    3. Story branching

    4. More interesting QTEs

    5. More choices in general

    6. No save file issues

    7. Better animation

    8. More interesting environments

    9. Slightly less predictable

    10. Kenny has more facial hair

  • Plot focus. I quote from another thread because I'm lazy as hell:

Well, we actually had plot, villain and themes introduced to us since the first episode, this season. I would call S2 more... focused on where it wants to go, what story it wants to tell. That can be great! It is the opposite of the first season, in which the goal was to simply find our way in the first months of the apocalypse and take care of this little girl.

Starved for Help was my favorite episode last season for a variety of reasons, yet some people think it the weakest or simply don't like it that much, and I can partly see why. When you get down to it, it didn't advance the plot that much. Sure, we got some great development, which is one of the things I appreciate the most, plus some creepy, one-time, surprise antagonists, but the bulk of the story was presented in "The Season One Trilogy" which starts in Long Road Ahead and ends with No Time Left.

Some people will long for S1's more "loose" storytelling, others will most certainly enjoy the more focused approach this season. Me? It's the Walking Dead, and she's Clementine, you have me either way...

There also seems to be some actual branching according to your choices, which is great in a game that emphasizes choice and consequence.

  • Not really a part of the game itself but I feel like the trailers are a lot better this time around. They don't spoil too much but they convey the right tone for the episode and the music used is really spectacular. I especially like how the first one began with Chuck's good mentor speech about Clem and how the second began with Carver's evil mentor speech to her.

  • Run button? I didn't notice that... LOL

  • Being lazy would skip question copy and pasting good answer is good enough thanks

  • I wonder if Anadel is doing EP3's trailer music. Carver was chillingly good.

  • Well I would say run is a positive, better graphics, less glitches so far, and most importantly, a great antagonist, I would put Carver up pretty high up there, perhaps top three best TTG antagonist?

  • I think the introduction of a season-long antagonist in the form of Carver, as opposed to butting heads with a new threat every episode, was a wise decision. The game's dynamics have also been focused on character interaction and story branching instead of exploration, which I personally like, but I can understand why it would irk some players. The structure of this season is just different.

  • If TT take away the exploration but give us multiple endings, it's fine by me.

  • Different music after each episode instead of one theme tune is a awesome improvement :)

Random thought, but I like how it feels more difficult to lie, and keep your stories straight when talking to illusive people like Carver.

I want to say the branching choices, but I'll have to see how they're carried out in episode three to properly judge them.

Also, changing the songs for the credits isn't vital, but it's a nice touch.

Ah how did I forget, a new depressing song in the credits of every new episode, Take Us Back gave them ideas, really, really depressingly sad yet amazing ideas.

It isn't so much the lengthy exploration that I miss so much as it is the downtime and multiple character interactions that came with the explorative segments.

As long as there are plenty of opportunities for proper dialogue I can look past it not happening in a large puzzle-based area.

Pros of Season 2 compared to Season 1:

    The graphics are sharper.

The UI is a bit better (all the cursor/dialogue design).

    Kenny's return (like you said)

Clementine's toughness and independence (also could be seen as a negative, she's becoming hardened)

The writing is still pretty good.

The Villian: Michael Madsen as Carver is awesome.

Main things I miss from Season 1:

    Lee (obviously)

Characters who were developed strongly in S1 all died or disappeared by S2 (except Kenny and Clem).

Hub areas and puzzles, more exploration. (I know not everyone likes those things, but I do.)

On the save file note, I really appreciate having more save slots. Three definitely was not enough. Especially, in homes where more than one person plays the game. I like to play at least two playthroughs (my nice playthrough and my jerk playthrough) and my husband also plays. I had to delete a save or two during the 1st season and 400 days. I'm very grateful for the extra save spaces. Also, good point on Kenny's facial hair. While it sounds superficial, I really like the beard. He looks softer and wiser for some reason. :)

  • Yeah, I miss the hub areas/exploring. They were really good for getting to know the characters and it gave you a moment to relax and check out your surroundings. I'm sure the designers do a lot of work on the different locations/backgrounds, so it would be nice to have a bit of time to appreciate them. I think it would also help quell some of the complaints regarding the length of the episodes. Those hubs in Season 1 helped prolong the episodes.

The new episode slides and the main menu with the changing themes are definitely a plus! They really get you into the mood of the game and where it will take you next. Even after playing, it's still exciting to see and listen to.

Speaking of those slides, all the stuff I've been seeing on the music connected to those slides is pretty cool (supposedly it's different music for each slide). It's really creepy though. Someone did a whole thread on it and analyzed all the music and its potential meanings. It definitely has me scared over what's to come. It's somewhere on the forum. I'll try to find it to link it.

Even if the theories aren't true, the music is still terrifying. I hadn't noticed it until I read the thread I linked.

  • A thing that i noticed is that there is no more repetitions, for an example when you can talk to an character one hundred times and he always says the same thing.

  • hold shift to walk slightly faster, it's definately an improvement from slug lee (someone please make a picture of a slug with lee's face on it)

  • Right, when you click on stuff besides people, it lets you pick it once, maybe two times, and then the option vanishes, I don't know why but I would click on everything three times in season 1 in case new dialogue showed up, so this is rather nice.
