An idea for a conversation between Clem & Carver

"Take a look around, Clementine. The dead are everywhere. Don't you ever wonder why they managed to beat us? The living, I mean?"

"No."

"It doesn't make much sense, does it? They're slow. They're stupid. Sure, there's a lot of them, but that's all they've really got. With the proper equipment and training, a dozen humans could take out a whole army of walkers. But instead, they kicked our collective asses. Can you tell me why, Clementine?"

"..."

"Because we don't have unity. Some of the most unpopular men in history believed in unity. Shallow idiots called them dictators. They came close, Clem, real close. They had the right idea, but the execution was lacking. That's what I'm trying to prove, right here, right now. We can withstand the storm. We can pull through...as long as we've got unity. When you don't have unity, what do you think happens? The same thing that happened to your group. The same thing that will happen to Luke's group. The dead win."

  • The dead always win.

That's a spooky and extremely eerie conversation. I definitely see Carver having these exact same sentiments.

  • This sounds pretty good in Carver's voice.

Well, the one weakness he would have is that he's insane. Dictator's in the past have always been insane. Another weakness is that they do not respect their citizens' rights or their neighbors. That's the downfall that dictators have: once they get power, they can't stop.

  • "So, tell me, Carver- did you have unity before or after the woman pregnant with your child, her husband, and quite a few other people decided to join up together and fight their way out of your prison camp, just because they couldn't stand you? I know I'm a better doctor than he is, but do you think breaking a man's fingers in front of his daughter was a way of showing how much you plan to keep people unified? I've seen walkers and I've seen you, and, honestly, I'm a lot less worried about the walkers." - things Clem will never say to his face, instead just shooting him in the back of the head when she gets a chance
