It EXISTS!

...I'm just kidding, it's just a contest where people mockup the games of today in full Original Gameboy glory. Here's a link to the contest.

Someone even made a Psychonauts one:

Saw this a while back, really awesome. Keep trying to get into pixel art myself.

Personal fave is the Cave Story one:

Good pixel artist skills and Photoshop, I imagine :)

Some of the best pixel art I've seen's been made in MS Paint!

I've tried it a few times, I don't have the patience or the skill to really get past anything really basic though. When I see things like this, it's amazing.

Isn't Photoshop a bit of an overkill? I'd say it's all skill and basically any image editing program, as long as you can make pixel dots in various colors. In fact, you don't even need a PC to make some pixel art. Check out this neat Post-it composition.

If you want more of these, just search the web for "Post-it art" and you'll find tons of pixly images.

P.S. - Check out this ultimate piece of Post-it / pixel art. Just click the image to open the webpage with more photos.

Heh... I used to work in the building from the second photo. A similar project happened a couple of years ago at the same place:
