I thought Episode 3 was really good though. It had a lot of replay value. I agree about Episode 2. It was a bit on the short side and wasn't too memorable, but Episode 3 definitely made up for it. I can't wait for Ep. 4. At least they alternate the release of episodes of TWD and TWAU. I'd go crazy having to wait 2 months without an episode from either game.
However, it seems like a lot of people miss them. I don't need a fast pace in TWD. I can get that in other games. Part of what made Season 1 so great was that it had a slower pace. You didn't feel the need to rush and I was always engaged. Now, you barely can stop to take a breather. There are so many cutscenes too. Someone did the math awhile ago on the forum for Episode 2 and it came out that over 70% of the episode was dedicated to cutscenes. While they were great scenes and while I loved the episode, I would like a little more gameplay, to feel like I am controlling the story a bit. Hopefully, they listened to many of the people here and will just add a place to explore here and there. I don't want a bunch of hubs, but just one every once in awhile. They allow people to get more out of the game, to get to know the surroundings and other characters and to appreciate all the work that goes into developing the locations, the background art. That's just my two cents.
I thought we agreed to let this thread die? We're not getting anymore out of Telltale, they answered all concerns spectacularly. We don't need to bump this.
I completely agree. Season 1's episode were LONG, but amazing. Season 2's episodes are AMAZING, but short. It's actually annoying. Not taking anything away from the story, because I have YET to play an episode that I didn't completely fall in love with. But it does make me incredibly sad when the episodes end so soon.
i say 1 hub in the middle or maybe just after a pretty hectic scene/event.
ep3 being in a camp should be a hub with options to do stuff like s1ep2 dairy farm.
i do miss the hubs but i don't miss the long drawn out aspect of them when the progression of the story is seemingly hidden amongst other stuff or requires a repeat of something trivial.

Well even though i loved the second episode of season 2 and it really felt longer than it actually was, the first episode 1 felt really short and unsatisfying for me.I think TellTale should make the episodes 2 hours long.It will still take just 1 sitting to finish and it wont be to short.

I'm going to be honest, I actually take two hours in each playthrough as I like playing at the speed of a turtle. Plus I get up to eat something or go take a.... you get the idea.
Second of all you're basing the length of the game off of the playtesters when you should be well aware that the game is not finished yet and won't be for another month.

i'm feeling pretty fucking pissed off right now if i am honest
How does this thread even have 49 likes? Are this many people so pissy about the length of the episodes? Maybe if less people were pissy about waiting for the next episode, Telltale would have time to make the episodes longer.
First of all, stop bumping this thread.

People hate waiting, yet they also hate short episodes. They also hate buggy releases.
Just talking about people here, not telltale, without going into the reasons for why the episodes are the length they are. I don't have a problem with it myself.
But yeah, if episodes being an hour and half in length per playthrough is a deal breaker, probably best keeping away from telltale games in the future. Note: I said if it's a deal breaker, not if you just dislike it. (Wish people would take into account the replayability though even if choices don't matter that much for the most part, plus the cost when compared to cinema tickets and films.)

Personally I think 1 hour and a half is a descent price for $5 (even cheaper if you got the season pass). Most movies are are $10 a person t… moreo see a film that's about the same length and I would rather play a new episode of the walking dead then go out and see a random movie.

This season is touted as perfect by many and they try to tell me that quantity doesn't equal quality... This season hasn't exactly been perfect, and the lack of content really saddens me.
What if S2's episodes were 2 - 3 hours of length? BORING.
In my honest opinion, I prefer Season 2. The episodes give me direct approach rather than long cutscenes that's irrelevant.
Take Episode 3 for example, Carlos being shot then eaten by walkers then shifts into Sarita being bitten made me take awhile to make everything sink in, which I like. Thought there are parts which could've been better if it wasnt for bad writing. Hurr durr.
Yeah if you take away the puzzles in S1 it would be the same as season two
Mind you in my playthrough I missed alot of stuff (apparently) so thats a factor as well
I don't mind the epsiodes being shorter
Too many games have that filler (like carly and the batteries) and it just drives you nuts it takes you away from the story
I found myself so much more overwhelmed with season 2 especially the escape from carvers gang
He beats Kenny then straight away bonnie is all like we're getting out of here... It really messes with your head when things move quickly I love it
I thought that whole scenario was just nuts!
On the topic of episode time I took the liberty of going to a few youtubers I'm subscribed too and I basically added up the time they spent … moreon each episode, of course for a few of them you could probably minus minutes for intros but it gives an idea of the times of each episode. Key: 23.45= 23 minutes and 45 seconds.

I love the longer episodes. More content, usually more hubs which in turn means more exploring and making the game atleast FEEL less linear and less like a graphic novel.
In that regard, I prefer the approach of the first season.

You're stretching out the experience because the episodes are too short and the wait between episodes are too long. If you were playing a game like TLOU you would probably take fewer breaks per session. Stretching out the play time is like someone rationing food because they don't know where their next meal will come from.

I feel like some risqué joke should be applied here.

There was a lot of puzzles in season 1 which made the episodes longer, season 2 lacked them.
This thread is sad..It's all sad

i agree with this guy 100% the episodes are too short season 2 feels like a short little game but season one felt like a huge long game
TWD Season 1 10/10
TWD Season 2 9/10 ( would be 10/10 to me if the episodes were longer that's why it's 9/10 )
But it's still an amazing game one of my favorites
