What do you think Clementine state of mind will be at the end of episode 5?

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

I am sorry in advance for my terrible English.

I think we almost agree that we love clementine and she changes so much after season 1.But after I saw some discussion about what would happen in remaining episode and judging by the episode's name It seem that clementine will face many terrible things. So I think after she is faced with whatever telltale will throw at her will she change even more? What do you think?

My possible idea is:
She become cold and emotionless i.e. killing people is now normal for her.
This might be from seeing people she cared about die in front of her(Maybe from carver) or have to kill one herself(Lee's situation or betrayal) and because of that she become cold to the world.
but I don't think this is what telltale might go for because it completely break her character.

So what do you think?

  • Yeah, it's pretty hard to stay sane after surviving for so long in the apocalypse. I'd say she could get close to insanity, but i hope she can fight it back and that the group is there for her. (That is if they're not all dead yet)

My theory is Clem will have a breakdown over something in episode four. What form it will take is anyone's guess, but it should eventually happen. Taking everything in stride would break suspension of disbelief, but becoming cold and heartless would completely eliminate the charm of the character. Episodes 1 and 2 did a good job of showing how Clem is starting to exhibit telltale (har) signs of PTSD and survivor's guilt, my theory is that it's only a matter of time before she sees or does something that pushes her over the edge. Going down this route will be difficult, requiring the writers to straddle a fine line between being too campy (I.e. Ghost parents/Lee) and so dark that it becomes ridiculous. Handled well, it could give the player a much better idea of what Clem is going through and explain some of what happened before the time skip (Christa's baby, etc.)

  • She will definitely experience some sort of change, however since Clementine is us and we are Clementine, I can't imagine telltale giving us choices that we wouldn't choose. It would detach us from caring because all the choices would go against what we would do/say in a similar situation.

  • That would be a really crappy direction which I truly hope they don't take. If that were to happen then we'll be playing Season 3 with a completely different Clementine who we don't know, it's basically the same as killing her off and giving us a new character.

  • Your English is better than half of the American/English people on this forum.

  • I was just thinking that lol.

  • She's going to be so incredibly happy and stick with the people she loves and they'll live happily ever after in some paradise where walkers and people aren't a problem.

Or probably the exact opposite that'll leave us all in tears. If I had to choose, I don't know what I'd prefer, insane Clem or dead Clem. What a world.

  • "Ice cream was a good choice."

  • I hope that Episode 5 would possibly have alternate endings that go with the choices we make through dear Clem.

  • Thanks, I said that because English isn't my native language.

  • But that would that be hard to write the script for season 3? Because of if it go as you say we might get dark clem and good clem that is very different from each other.

  • I think that in the end she will be te one to "off" Carver, this might change Clem in some ways, perhaps turning her colder and a step closer towards insanity. She might also turn for the better of course. Im hoping that the season will end in a way that rebuilding is indicated not just surviving

  • I don't think she'll go mad. That's way too random in my opinion-just because Lizzy went mad does not mean Carl would, for example. If that was the case they would've shown hints of it. I think she'll just get tougher and more mature as any kid would. I hope she does not get cold and emotionless, but that seems realistic. More so than becoming insane.
