My Opinion About Release Dates

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

I Think that Telltale Games should take their time and not rush it...i have seen all kinds of complaints around the web that they want TTG to release episodes as fast as possible,i think this is a horrible idea; my opinion is that TTG Should take their time to make Every episode the best it can be with awesome HUD interactions, long conversations,Decisions that have a bigger impact on the game and so each episode can be longer.
What do you guys think?

But is like 3-5 months acceptable?

  • I Would Say Around 3-3.5 Months,But you do have a good point...Some people just might not be patient enough to wait for High quality episodes

  • Telltale should start making the episodes really, really early to confirm their awesomeness and an early release date, but I'm fine with this. The Wolf Among Us, and the upcoming Borderlands and Game of Thrones are really putting some pressure on Telltale.

  • You haven't play TWAU, haven't you?

  • 4 months of waiting, 1:20h gameplay with a real shitty story.

  • Wow it took them 4-5 months to release TWAU's second episode? Glad I knew TWAU right after they released their 2nd episode then!

Actually, it should take TTG 2 months maximum to release an episode. And maybe if something ticks and issues occur, one more month (which makes it 3 months of work on one episode) wouldn't hurt and can be understandable because issues happen, but 4-5 months??? That's probably a joke! No offense.

Release dates should not be very long, because that will bring a disrepute to TTG as well as bore their fans and cause a lot of criticism. Some people like their games a lot and really can't wait to play.

I certainly am not against TTG, but wanting to play their games, and therefore I just don't feel like waiting a hell lotta time.

I, as a big fan of TTG, find it disappointing and wish they at least look at their websites/forums to notice our feedback.

  • TWAU episode two has extenuating circumstances which telltale has apparently resolved and doesn't expect to happen again. Get over it.

The long waits are not what bothers me, it's how bloody sporadic they are and the complete lack of info/updates. How many times have they said it's "really really soon" or "right around the corner" and yet it still gets released 2-3 weeks after that comment. If they said they where going to release episodes every 2 OR 3 months (any longer and personally i would lose interest but i admit and i know i'm an impatient person) and stuck to that schedule i wouldn't be too fussed. It's me getting hyped up and expecting it to be released soon, only to have too wait another month that's bugging me personally. Sure it would be nice to have an episode every month, but if that was at the cost of good quality/long episodes then it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion, im happy waiting a few months if it means the episodes produced are of good quality and long enough
EDIT - also i don't personally think they should be attempting so many games at once. Sure at the minute they only have a small work force doing TGOT and BL but very soon they will have to be working on three games at a time - TGOT BL and TWD (as i presume TWAU will stop at one season - i presume anyway) From my understanding TT is a fairly small company, and could probably keep up with deadlines alot more if they just focused on one thing at a time - i personally think after the success of TWD they kind of let it go to their heads.

  • Yeah, but they've taken their time with their last 4 releases and haven't given us hardly any of what you described. The last episode of TWD dead was the only game that didn't feel like it was rushed out the door.

As much as I would want the episodes out as fast as possible, I really don't want the quality to downgrade. The only solution is probably having them work on one game at a time.

  • I never implied anything bad about the other episodes,i am just saying that TTG Shouldnt get squished by the pressure to release episodes to fast and its way more worth it to wait an extra few weeks for awesome content

  • But what about Quality?

  • I think they have Teams that work on all the games that still haven't have all of their episodes out yet

  • They scrapped the WHOLE game and rewrote it, that's mainly why it took 4 months
