Does Luke have an accent to you?

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

I dunno, he just seems to have this kinda tone to his voice that makes me think he's from down south or something, do any of you hear it too?

well they are in Georgia so most likely he may have a tiny southern accent

  • I see what you mean, but aren't they all in North Carolina now?

  • yeah, I wasn't sure where they were but that makes more sense now haha

  • Everyone has an accent. Even YOU. Dun dun dunnn.....

  • They've all been traveling a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if he was from a bit deeper down south, originally.

  • Nick and Luke both knew each other before the apocalypse but nick doesn't have the southern accent thing going on

  • I mean, people don't stay there whole lives in one place. If you move to a different area later in your life, you're going to keep the accent of the place you grew up in. Maybe Luke grew up in the south and then moved farther north and met Nick, or vice versa.

You may be right, all i know is i saw the interview where that wanker Greg Miller was talking to Luke's voice actor and i was surprised that he sounded nothing like Luke.

  • Not sure about the accent but they speak a lot of stuff thats probably southern, especially Pete.

  • Well, yeah, most voice actors can do a very wide range of different accents and manners of inflection and pronunciation. That's sort of their job.

He definitely has a southern drawl. Pretty standard fare for the Carolinas.

  • Isnt he from a farm or something. Carver described him and nick as farmboys

  • He definitely has a southern drawl and uses a bunch of southern colloquialisms when he speaks. Kudos to the VA, because it's one thing to do the accent, but another to incorporate the dialect.

I'm actually curious about Nick, because sometimes he has a bit of a southern twang, and other times he doesn't. Pete sounds very southern, and I assume that he lived close to Nick for most of Nick's life, since Pete states that he was a surrogate father for his nephew. I wonder if this was an oversight on the VA's part, or maybe there's a reason behind it. Like maybe Nick and his mom moved around when he was a kid, or maybe they lived up north and Pete moved closer to them to help his sister out.

  • He does have a wee bit of a southern accent. I think I just hear southern accents so much I can't remember what it sounds like for people not to have one o_o

  • It's Scott Porter's natural accent.
