Is the city in No Going Back....

Detroit! Not that it looks much different than it does now.... Kenny said it was up near Michigan. It's a major city so I guess that it has to be Detroit....

Comments

  • Most likely it is. The real Wellington is not far from Detroit, so yes it probably is assuming we reach Wellington this season.

  • MAYBE, but it suckes cuz its going to take so long to find out.... :(

  • Definitely Detroit.

  • Wait, we're going to be near Detroit? Not even Kirkman is that cruel.

  • The great thing about living in Detroit is that, even after the dead start rising from the grave and feasting on the living, things couldn't really get much worse there. I'm guessing the people of that fine city adjusted to the apocalypse a lot faster than most.

  • I think its Wellington at Michigan:

If that's Detroit... that means they probably won't make it to Wellington. It will probably be Kenny with his boat all over again... he is sure to lose his shit when Wellington doesn't work out.

  • Well, maybe there's a well-stocked, well-armed, thriving community in Detroit. Like a group of survivors came in and really cleaned up the place; you know, just to fuck with your expectations...

  • Clem and the group make it to Wellington: the citizens of Deteroit don't even know there is an apocalypse.

  • Probably didn't want a history lesson, but: Detroit was one of largest and one of the richer cities in the US, largely because of car manufacturing. A lot of the factories left (there's still some car manufacturing, but a lot of other factories left- which is why Detroit - Indiana - Pittsburgh is referred to as the 'rust belt') Then in the 70's there was a lot of civil unrest (like riots) and a lot of the wealthy residents left (predominantly white, which is why it is usually referred to as 'white flight'). I'm not sure the exact figures from Detroit, but my father is from near Newark, which was one of the largest cities when he was growing up, but it lost about half its population at the time and is now one of the most dangerous cities in the country (Camden, a suburb, I believe has the highest murder rate in the US, and with budget cuts and the financial crisis, they had to lay off about half the police force).
