When Did You Realize Who Matthew Was?

  • I was probably a little slower than a lot of other people, i figured it out when i was outside the lodge talking to Walter about Steinbeck and Matthew's litirature collection.

  • Same. I didn't really think it was that hard to figure out.

Th very first time they mentioned Matthew. I thought oh thats that guy

  • Who was it that started mentioning him first, Walter or Sarita? Whoever started talking about their missing friend, I knew it was him and I knew he and Walter were together when he said "my partner".

  • I dont remember that at all. It sure didnt click for me.

I'm not even lying now: Immediatly after I saw Walter. In the preview for Episode 2 (the 'I thought you were dead' one), you can see him with Walter. And I knew Matthew was part of his group, so the more shocked I was when Nick shot him.

  • Yep that sealed my suspicions too. I paused the game and just face palmed, wondering how I was gonna kill Nick.

When Walter showed the can of peaches it clicked for me. I went from being happy Kenny returned to "Fuck we killed Matthew! BOLLOCKS!" very quickly :P

For me it was after Walter showed Clem the can of peaches. Then if you click the peaches when you're exploring the lodge, Clem looks at them

  • I hadn't even put two and two together but a friend playing it at the same time messaged me around the moment I was talking to Walter outside and was like, "Holy shit what if Matthew is the guy that Nick killed on the bridge?" And I recall just thinking, "No way, that's--fuck. Fuck."

I wasn't sure who Matthew was before I talked to Walter. Right when I had seen the same can of peaches and he made the same comment Alvin made about it to Clem, that was when I managed to put 2 and 2 together and thought, "Oh, shit. What'll I do?"
