Monkey Island

I think that telltale shuld consider making an episode based game series of monkey island, where Guybrush is on a different adventure every month, that would be the gratest "games" ever made i think

anybody with me? ;D

I'm afraid LucasArts own the rights for the Monkey Island, so that wouldn't be possible at the moment.

    Holy crap! A fresh one!

    This is getting seriously hilar.

Somehow I get the impression that Monkey Island has a bit of a following. :p

Speaking of Monkey Island, Telltale should do an episodic series based on it. Or maybe a series of games in episodic format based on... Monkey Island! If they can't do that, how about Monkey Island episodes? A whole series of them, even!

They should just do it to shut up the fan boys.

Nah, it's too funny to see the endless requests flood in. :D Especially since I was never fond of the series, so I have no yearnings for a new one.

Not fond? Wow, that's a newie. I still want to marry Guybrush, he's a hunk of burning love.

ok LucasArt ownes the rights to the game, but sence LA have said that a MI 5 game culd be possible in the future but years from now, it should be possible to get them to let go of the rights, they could still make a MI 5 game later on, if taletell dont mess up the story to much but i have full confidense that they wont

the MI series is one of the best games ever made, i play trough them atleast ones a year ;D

(i apologise for my bad spelling, i never paid much attantion in eng class :P )

Rights are a funny thing. Even if a company doesn't plan to create anything with those rights, it's highly unlikely they'd make them available just so that someone else could make money with them. Generally, they'll hold them as long as they can in case the market swings back toward the franchise, at which point they'll cash in. It all comes down to what will make them the most money.

As much as I loved Monkey Island 1-3. 4 was craptacular. Let the series die.

The only way the series is going to die is when they tell the secret of monkey island.

I've heard waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much about Monkey Island on this forum.Trying to get TTG to make an episodic series out of Monkey Island just isn't gonna happen, and if it does, it won't be for a while.TellTale already has 3 series on their hands, so cut 'em some slack.I've never seen so much attention be payed to a cult classic.

P.S. I've never played, and probably won't play, any of the Monkey Island games, so I really can't judge the games' quality. All I'm saying is that no matter how many threads people make requesting this series, it's not likely to change any plans.

I didn't like the 3d graphics, always been more fond of the 2d cartoon style of Monkey 3.

I agree with you there. I enjoyed MI4, but not as much as the others. I especially loved the art style of MI3.

I prefer that art style in general, like I prefer 2d animation cartoons over the new pixar type computer stuff.

Why is that? If you like Telltales games, chances are you'd love the Monkey Island games as well (especially the two first ones).

Is there any reason why you won't play these games? I highly recommend them!
