Best outbreak scene
Which media do you think has the best outbreak scene? I always liked S1E1 because I liked seeing the beginning of the outbreak and the drugstore, which is the classic trapped scene.
Personally I loved Resident Evil: Outbreak's first scene, if only because of the initial confusion and nerviousness, the barricading, the standard friend-who's-bit, and then (unlike The Walking Dead) you see the breakdown in order, IE the way you see the cop in Resident Evil trying to fend back the hoards with a shotgun (obviously it doens't work and you get his gun).
Another one I'd recommend is the Flash game Dead Frontier: Outbreak
Basically, what is you're favorite outbreak scene and how does it compare to The Walking Dead?

The Comic book/TV show outbreak scene is still amazing.
A man who was considered dead, wakes up out of his coma and has lost everything he cared about, but never stoped believing that there is still hope left in this world. Having only one goal left, that keeps him going for so long. Finding his family again!
My favourite is Episode 3 of Season One when Ben is on top of the train and notices the large amount of Walkers heading towards the group. I just found it scary as heck with the amount of them there were and the situation Lee and Omid were having at the time with cutting down the gas tank. Felt like we only just made it.
I totally forgot this one. It apparently has nothing to do with the game it advertises, but this trailer is so good and a copyright for a film was purchased based solely on the ad.

Wow.
I'd vote for the last of us opening. It hits you in the feels right off the bat, which is cool, but the stellar part is watching humanity crumble around you. Feeling like you were one of the lucky few to make it out as people fall around you, explosions and fire tear across the screen, screams of panic and horror fill your ears, it's pandemonium and feels very... real.
Not very often do you get to actually see the infection process as it engulfs the populace (mostly because that portion of ZA tales is woefully unrealistic and nearly impossible) so it was cool to 'be in the thick of it,' if you will.
I always find the scene where Lilly overlooks the motel as the bandits and walkers overun it to be quite good. It just shows how quickly things can fall apart.
I remember watching Geoffrey from roosterteeth try to watch this trailer. It was funny..... and sad.
The big attack on the streets of Philadelphia in WORLD WAR Z was pretty incredible, but that's only because the filmmakers had the budget to pull it off. Most of the time, horror movie directors have to work with what they've got, which often leads to a greater capacity for imagination.
I'd say Tobe Hooper's LIFEFORCE has my favourite "zombie outbreak" scenes on a large scale, while THE LAST MAN ON EARTH features my favourite outbreak sequences on a small, budget-friendly scale.
28 days later, love how It shows the origin of the virus and the opener with the main character waking up out of an a coma was the best, it had me on the edge of my seat from the start. I also believe TWD comic copied the coma opener.
