Well oops...
Just checked the stats for Episode 3, me and only 15% burnt down Auntie Greenleaf's tree. Hate me as much as you want, but I was NOT happy with her at all. Seems I did something pretty terrible, oops XD
If you want to freak out at me, read my thread about what Telltale did so good this Episode, I explained my reasoning a bit more there, though I don't really regret burning her tree, it seems like I may have made the wrong choice...

I haven't played out that option yet. Weird... it seemed wrong to burn her tree, but right to kill dee (or was it dum).
Even though that's not what I chose, burning down the tree didn't seem like a terrible idea to me. I mean, making those glamours should technically be illegal and should stop being produced to save more Fables, so I don't think burning down the tree is morally wrong. Besides, you probably got on Snow's good side for that.
Well, she continued to make the glamours even with Faith's death, so she probably knew these were leading to the deaths of people. Burning it is completely reasonable, even though I opt'd not to.
I kept the tree around. could be useful. That option was akin to "hiring" her.
I burned that tree. I'm a good leashed wolf who follows Snow's orders.
I didn't do it for her, I did it for me. I like Snow, but she can't always expect me to do what she says.
Didn't burn the tree, but that's definitely not a bad choice. She's making glamours illegally, and as Snow said, "making fortune of other people's misery". Nevertheless, I wanted to give her one more chance. Maybe she'll come to work in 13th floor, despite her being "not a house cat". Also, I really didn't like Snow's attitude towards it. She was being quite a bitch, if you'll excuse me. I understand that this is illegal, but the tree can be confiscated or something... Ancient artifacts shouldn't be destroyed. That tree can still be of good use.
Don't get me wrong, though. If I'll find any more of those tubes with a white deer on it while investigating this whole thing, I'm going to burn that tree and piss on the ashes.
Yeah i didn't burn down her tree, toad popped into my head and all the other fables who might need a cheap fable, plus she said the tree was old (really) and passed down through the generations - as a horticulturist i just couldn't bring myself to kill such a majestic plant
To be honest i now wish i did, i mean she didn't even seem appreciative....bitch lol.
I didn't burn it down, especially after she confessed. Went back for the achievement and burned it down and it was hard to watch. So I'm happy I made the right call the first time.
I didn't burn her tree, i didn't agree at all with snow here. An artefact like that should not be destroyed i think. Even no she some bad things happened because of it. It could have been confisticated, yeah, but it though about all the poor fables. They cannot afford the official glamour, and would be ejected out of the down, without that illegal and cheap glamour. It is illegal, but i think it has to exist i think. I should be kinda controlled, not destroyed. Plus, i think thoses fables would have hated me even more he i had chosen to burn it ^^
I disagree that burning the tree down is a rational option. The connection between Greenleaf's glamour business and the murders is completely circumstantial, and as Buffkin points out in Episode 2, there's nothing strictly illegal about it. While Lily was using Greenleaf's homemade glamour at the time of her death, that presumably wasn't the actual reason she was killed, and it had nothing to do with Faith's death at all.
The way I see it, Snow is the one being unreasonable in that scene, letting her anger and humiliation at Crane's antics get the better of her and projecting it unto the tree just because it was involved, putting her personal feelings before the community in her decision. It's a nice touch, really, giving Bigby the chance to be the calm one for once, reminding her that both the tree and the witch are valuable resources in high demand, and that the important thing is to get to the bottom of the murders.
It makes for a nice balance, I think, her giving him an incentive to be decent and civilized and him dragging her back down to earth when her feelings run away with her. More than anything, it's the beginning of a great working relationship where they both know where they stand and respect the other's authority, and neither is willing to back down when they know they're right, even though one technically outranks the other. I don't regret standing up to her one bit, loss of browny points or no. They're not getting together anytime soon, anyway. In fact, I recall them having a relatively frosty, professional relationship at the start of the comics, set years later. The dynamics we're seeing between them at this point could well be the reason for that.
It was like an early Christmas, seeing the tree being lit up like that. Something to roast marshmallows over, yeah?
EDIT: That was harsh what I said earlier, she didn't really deserve that in the first place. Having that tree as the only thing that reminded her of home.
I offered her a job cos personally I found it hilarious how the situation was so tense & Snow was getting a hard on about burning the tree then I just up & tell her "You're hired!" That & she's just desperate for money & an old lady... Who else called that the little girl was actually her cos I did lol
Me too. And burning the tree felt too permanent...
Damn son, that was a good comment. I give you my thumb. (rips off thumb and throws it at computer monitor)
I burnt the tree down and I shouldn't, I mean, I felt really really bad afterwards.
That's true. Sometimes you know better, and if she can't respect that then it isn't going to work with you as her sheriff.
I was gonna comment something like this but you seem already covered it up
Honestly, I think burning the tree is one of those things that I'll just never do in any of my playthroughs of the game. It just feel so wrong to destroy something so precious to someone, when they haven't been malicious or done any harm to me or others. I mean, I get that Snow was hurt by the Crane thing, but it's not like Greenleaf knew about her past or snuck into Snow's apartment and took her things. All she did was get a bunch stuff by mail, put them in a hollow tube, say some words over them, and mailed them back to the sender. Lilly did far more to violate Snow's privacy and comfort than Greenleaf did.
