What's so scary about B**** M****?
I don't know about bloody Mary(literally don't know, didn't read comics).
She looks strong because she crushed bigby's arm so easily.
But she didn't do anything except using silver bullet and crushing an arm of a wounded werewolf.
She is a completely sociopath i giver her that, but she looks like a lame villain to me.

she is a character from an urban legend, if you want to know the story look it up, but be warned it is pretty fucking creepy
You dont know about Bloody Mary?
does urban legend count as Fable story?
I.....thought it was candyman.
I think any kind of fictional story counts. Its not just Fairy tales. They have characters from The wizard of oz and Frankenstein and things like that. Since its a story thats been passed around orally instead of a written one, it still counts. Fables gain their power also from how well known a story is and Urban Legends get passed around so much that it makes sense that this particular character would be pretty powerful. I thought she was scary just from her cold-hearted ruthlessness.
She pretty much gives you the tl;dr of her story. Bloody Mary is an urban legend, usually invoked by groups of kids/teenagers these days, who stand in a dimly lit room with a mirror (usually a bathroom) and chant her name into it five times. In more recent adaptions, they might end the chant with "...we killed your son" just to piss her off more.
Bloody Mary then supposedly hops out of the mirror covered in blood, screams like a banshee, strangles everyone and scratches their eyes out, then drinks their blood and souls. Good times.
Gosh!!! Now I am scared!
Bloody Mary is a nickname given to Mary I of England. She was notorious for the mass slaughtering of Protestants and was given the nickname. Execution after execution in the most brutal ways, mainly beheading, I believe.
Because She's aware that she's a sadist and embraces it, which frankly scares me an disgusts me the most.
If I had to guess, I'd say she is like Bigby in the sense she can change forms. So in episode 4 or 5 we will likely have some sort of fight scene were she shows just how strong she actually is
I wonder if there are any Hobbits on this universe....
Hence the Long Live the Queen comment.
But yeah, I'm pretty sure that's just the origin of the name of the urban legend of which the character is based. TWAU's Bloody Mary definitely wasn't the Mary I.
Yeah, maybe she can change forms. Her changed form will be like a devil or a daemon.Would be great if the TWAU staff would do a fight between them in their final forms, but with no interventions like silver bulets or anything.
BTW:Do want to hear the true nad funny legend about bloody mary?"If you scream bloody mary 3 times at 3 am, your mother screams you to go to sleep."
Plus a smack on the head.
You can read the fables thing in TWAU after you meet her. It basically says that she can appear from any reflective surface and im pretty sure there's something else. Im glad that they included her because there's just something about psychopathic women who scare the shit out of me but also intrigue me in the most peculiar sexual way. Kind of reminds me of Vaas from far cry 3 as well.
I was quite scared when she introduced herself as Bloody Mary because I know the Urban Legend.
Regarding her power, in the Book of Fables Entry, it is said that she has resistance toward magic and a strange ability to use any reflective surface as a portal, effectively short-cutting space and time. Does the latter means that she is able to use reflect to teleport anywhere she wants?
Nah, i like her. She's a Bloody Bitch, but the fact that she doesn't play fair makes her even more evil. And she's not SCARY, she's just a complete sociopath. I really like that, i actually like her. So yeah.
But, actually, she seems quite powerful. In her Book Of Fables entry, it said that she was immune to magic and she can teleport from any reflective surface. She's pretty cool.
She's not scary. She's just your typical psychopathic look-I'm-so-edgy villain that gets killed easily. Maybe if you have had little exposure to characters like her it would be a prolific introduction, but I've seen characters like her before and they're usually painfully one dimensional.
Shit, I won't even take joy in killing her eventually. It would be like ripping up a piece of paper.
I remember someone mentioning that Bluebeard is a better version of Mary. Namely, he's a sociopath. He keeps his urges in check and takes more pleasure in manipulating situations to suit his outcome. That is awesome. Being a psycho bitch with plot-armour (courtesy of TT) is just lame.
You really think she's going to be that easily killed? Based on her game bio, it would seem not. The Comic Bluebeard is not that great a villain. He's actually a bit of a coward. He blusters a lot but Bigby cows him pretty easily.
There's something about beautiful psycho women that fascinates me.
Well the whole Bloody Mary vs Bigby thing is like the Superman vs Lex Luther rivalry. Superman could easily kill Luther in a straight up fight but Lex always has a plan often involving kryptonite to even the odds. So yes Bloody Mary isn't the kind of villain who is going to have an epic one-on-one fight with Bigby because that would be just a too easy win for Bigby. Instead she will always have a plan and it seems that silver is Bigby's kryptonite.
I always thought that Bigby and Bluebeard were like Superman and Lex Luthor. You know, because Bluebeard is rich and bald.
I would also like to add Jack's Urban Legend to the list since it's mentioned in the comics.
She has those Nate eyes, spooky.
I don't think the game characters and the comic characters are one and the same. I read somewhere that comic Bigby is a Darwinist - thinking those too weak deserve to be fucked over and the only thing that matters is protecting his pack (ironic, since Bigby was the weakest wolf of the litter). Whereas game Bigby helps those in need and, while not especially sensitive, isn't an outright dickbag. Hence why I don't care what Comic Bluebeard is like, game BlueBeard is actually a brave bad guy.
Easily killed? No. Killed? Hell yes.
through mirrors and water. yup. we're screwed.
Sam pipl tink dey ken rezist međik. Meybi. sniff Meybi. Ayv yet to mit van det ken rezist bulet.
That's not exactly a true interpretation of comic Bigby. He might have been like that before he reformed but he is not like that now. Im rereading the series and he definitely cares about people. He puts his "pack" first but he has lots of friends. As for what we've seen of Game Bluebeard, I stand by my all bluster assessment.
I agree KCohere and I think Viral Type should really read the comics to not be laughed at.
There are three versions of the story.
The original Urban Legend was that if a woman walked up a staircase backwards in a dark house holding a candle and a mirror, then the face of their future husband would appear in the mirror. Other times, a skull would appear, meaning that they would die before they married. This was probably created from a poster around the time that Halloween first became popular.
The second version refers to Mary I of England, who executed so many Protestants that she was given the nickname Bloody Mary.
The last, and most popular story is a modern urban legend. It states that if you chant the name "Bloody Mary" into a mirror in a dark room, then a spirit will appear. At this point, there are several versions about what happens. Sometimes, it is a woman soaked in blood who begins to scream like a banshee. She either just keeps screaming until the lights go off again, and then turn on and she'll be gone, or she kills you. Other times, it is just a woman soaked in blood who doesn't actually do anything, and then disappears after a moment.
The character in The Wolf Among Us seems to be based on the more modern version, as well as having some connections to the actual historical figure due to her "Long live the Queen" comment. It would seem as if she does have the ability to actually appear in mirrors, and sometimes makes the legend a little more real when she's bored.
The Wolf Among Us is a canon prequel, so they are the same characters. We'll probably see more of the cowardly side of Bluebeard relatively soon.
I don't think she has a "final form", but the Book of Fables said that she is resistant to magic and can appear in any reflective surface, like mirrors.
Woe betide he who is laughed at by a forum. Truly, even the Jews in Auschwitz didn't know of a worse fate.
Don't expect me to read a 150 issue series just to check all the facts. Tried the first TPB, found it lame, game is better. But from what little I DID see, Bigby here is a lot more pleasant (or lively, if you're playing a douchebag) than the one in the comics.
"She is fucking GORKED."
The Catholics were persecuted with equal fanatism and cruelty under Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. But protestant-written history named Mary "Bloody Mary" and Elizabeth "Good Queen Bess"...
If Catholicism had prevailed in England we would talk about "Bloody Bess" and "Good Queen Mary"...
History is always written by the victors.
KCohere is right. Read the romantic issues of the comics. Bigby puts Snow first than the fables in trouble, he doesn't trust Jack or Bluebeard. Bigby even gets accepted to enter the Farm, where he fights Beast because of a spell. You have to read quite a bit to notice everything. Bigby is protective of every fable in the comics, even to the point that it doesn't look that way.
Fairly sure that authorless folklore has no timeframe but authored works like Hans Christian Andersen, Brothers Grimm, A A Milne and J R R Tolkein need 100 years or something since last publication to avoid copyright infringement.
Yup. Kinda hot too. Would bang.
Maybe they could cut a deal. You know, Fables, DC Comics, Vertigo, Warner...
She seems like the kinda straight up villain the story needed, so I'm glad she's in it.
