Timeline question... continuity error?
So I know I'm about an episode late to ask this question, and forgive me if someone has already asked this and it's been answered, but what exactly is the timeline for when Lilly went missing and was killed? When Bigby breaks into the hotel room she was killed in, he mentioned that she was killed "last night." As far as I can tell, that would have been the night after Faith was killed, the same night her head and body were found. Gren and Holly had mentioned earlier that day that her sister was "missing" and I thought, though my memory is fuzzy, that the implication was that she had been missing for a while. Lilly met Crane in the Open Arms after this conversation took place, but she met him in the course of a regular work night. So she couldn't have been "missing" when Holly said she was. Holly even knew where she worked, so even if Lilly had been ignoring Holly's attempts to contact her, Holly could easily have gone to the strip club and spoken with anyone there about her sister and known that she was fine.
So... she obviously wasn't "missing." She was going about her life the same way she had before. It doesn't seem as though they meant for Holly to be deceptive in the conversation after Faith died (but before Lilly did), so... am I crazy or missing something, or is this a continuity error?

I've noticed that. My conclusion - Lily was glamoured as Snow for a while. It wasn't legal. Meeting with sister or Woodsman would raise questions. Nobody from P&P helped Holly. Their lips are sealed. They can't talk about work. That's why she had been "missing".
I guess that's possible...but the Woodsman was surprised that Faith had shown up instead of Lilly at the beginning of episode 1, which means that the night before the conversation between Bigby and Holly, one of Holly's closest confidants didn't even know that her sister was missing. Since he's clearly a regular at her bar, I can't imagine this is information that Holly would withhold from him. Which means that the earliest Holly could have reported her missing was the night before her conversation with Bigby. And I'm not sure how she even could have known that Lilly was gone in the first place--she made a point of saying that they weren't speaking. The only way she could know that Lilly wasn't around, assuming that she had been masquerading as Snow White 24 hours a day for quite a while (which seems unnecessarily risky to me, since she was only doing it for one client and even had to write in her appointment book a reminder to look like Snow) is if one of Lilly's friends mentioned it to her, and not her work friends, obviously. And it would have had to be the day before she actually died at the earliest, or Woody would have known about her disappearance. Basically there isn't any way to make much sense out of the conversation Bigby has with Holly that I can see.
there is an issue. Let's say Lily was missing because she spent most of her recent time in room 207. It would not be sense for Crane to have Vivian called to change his appt time. If she had been killed earlier than Faith was, it would make sense that Beauty could not open the door with the key, but why would it be in Crane's possession of it, if someone was trying to frame me? Beauty's and 207 should not have worked. The note could have been forged, but then the club knew she was taking johns outside the hotel. So many things just don't add up yet. If by chance it was an unanimous person who reported Lily, then technically Woody should not have expected her.
Yep noticed this too, I think it's just an unfortunate oversight.
Until we figure out the last time Crane had his "massage" with Lily, I don't think we'll know for sure how long she was missing. The first time we know Crane went to the Open Arms was just after Faith was found, so since Crane didn't go find the Ring of Dispel until after Lily's body was examined, that means that he didn't get to see Lily the previous morning, or else he probably wouldn't have shown up for Dee/The Woodsman's interrogation. Also, the lock on the door to 207 was changed, so it's possible Crane or Lily had their own key (which the killer could have used, or he just picked the lock).
I really hope this is not just an oversight.
I've heard that Telltale decided to change chapter 2, and I hope these are not the consequences of that, I'd rather them staying true to the originally envisioned story, even if it's somewhat predictable, than to change it so much that it ruins the logic of the game. I already am not sure if some things from chapter 1 still hold importance or not, and that is not something that should happen in a detective story where everything should be part of the equation.
What you've heard about changing chapter two seems to stem from unverified rumors that were flying around previous to the explanation given for why episode two was so late. It seems the "unusual and specific" circumstance that caused the delay was too vague, so people continue to think it had something to do with all the fuss that was made centering around the red-haired guy, even though that's not the case since the main arc for TTG's games is laid out well before any episodes are released. For example, Game of Thrones is apparently being written right now.
Lastly, even if TTG changed things for episode two based on what people said about the red-haired guy, that's not unusual at all and is actually exactly what they are known for, so yeah, try not to get caught up in hearsay like some other people. The only major change that happened was Georgie's voice actor, so that may or may not have had something to do with the wait (as in, the guy could have been a litigious douche-bag).
I get it, these rumors do get easily spread. Thanks for the clarification!
I don't mind them reacting to fanbase and changing things, I just don't want them to get entangled in their own story, since writing a good crime story isn't an easy thing to do and one can easily go off track. It wouldn't be good neither to them as developers nor to us as players, that's all I'm saying.
