What do people think of this Clementine's character

I have two saves. One with Clementine taking Lee's teachings and mostly piling them up into a protector of kinds. Like Lee. And my second was with Lee's arm cut off. I've made that a major change in her character, showing that to protect the ones you care about you should sacrifice a bit of yourself. I'm thinking that till the carver section I will have her sneak out and probably take the shot at Carver to get Alvin killed. Making that the major point in which she loses a bit of her humanity. Ends justify the means and all.

  • I don't really understand how everyone thinks Clem should lose her humanity in the end. Would she make a few tough calls? Maybe. Would she be broken down into a mental wreck? Possibly. Would she recover from it and become a stronger person in the end? Probably.

For your two playthroughs, though? Okay. I don't really have much to say other than "Go for it".

  • I agree with Itchy. Clem "losing her humanity" is a bit strong... I could imagine two different Clems; one where she retains her naivety and optimism in season 2, and the other one where she became bitter over the course of those 16 months, especially since you-know-who died. But for her to become an outright vicious bitch like Michelle where 'the ends justify the means' just doesn't seem possible at all, character-wise.

  • But sacrificing someone's life to get to another is losing a bit of humanity. It is valuing revenge over a life.

  • It's not revenge as much as it's a risk. She's willing to let Kenny take his chances and possibly end the conflict once and for all. As the player, you know the consequences of this action (Alvin buys the farm), but Clementine and the other characters do not.

  • A man being held at gunpoint always present the clear fact that a wrong move could end with the party dead. Clementine as already seen that surrendering to Carver equals survival.
