Two things that have been on my mind lately

So the thing is I have been thinking about this for ages so I decided to make a thread about it.

First one: In episode one when Shawn gets bit he says: "it almost got me" or something similar and then Hershel says: " I know I will patch you up son. I don't understand why Shawn says that it almost got him when he clearly got bit twice and didn't he feel the bite? I can understand that Hershel tries to be positive about it but still, he knew Shawn was going to die. Am I the only one who doesn't really get this?

The other one: season 2 episode 1

After the time skip when you talk to Christa you can say: "we need a group"
Christa will answer with: "you can't trust no one not anymore"
Christa kinda seems like a hypocrite here cause when she talks about Wellington all the time it seems like she trusted people before maybe something happend. Because she says it's safe there so she would had trusted someone cause she seems so sure about it.

What do you guys think about this?

  • Well, to your first one, I infer that Shawn maybe doesn't exactly know that getting bit by a walker will kill you later on - maybe he thought the only way to turn into one of them is if you, for example, get your organs eaten or maybe he thought you'd have to die right away to become a walker. I also think that he was assuring his dad that he isn't dead, and that he isn't a walker.

As to your question about S2 E1, I simply just think that after Omid getting killed, she became bitter and didn't trust people (besides Clementine) anymore.

  • The first one I'd chalk up to massive shock. He probably had only a very loose realization of reality.

The second could be chalked up to feverish want. You hear something and need it to be true, so it's undeniably true. Kinda like Kenny and his boat.

  • Or Kenny and Wellington. Hey, now he and Christa have something in common.

  • 1.) Can be chalked up to shock. It's not uncommon for someone who's horribly injured to not realize it.

2.) it's hypocritical, but Wellington is a massive hope spot, a reason to keep on keepin' on.

  • Bout time they see eye to eye.
