A silly question for some... but...

I know this may sound EXTREMELY stupid for some.. but here goes..

I grew up with most "fables" via disney movies. Such as The Little Mermaid and Cinderella and stuff.
Wolf Among Us and the comics are all about adult realistic versions of these "fables" even going as far as to create original ones.
In this respect, anything that is a "fable" in that world.. or OURS could be in that universe, correct? I dont completely understand that universe, but I'm assuming so.

So, going by this logic.. would it be possible for us to see..
Shrek ..from the movie of the same name in game for example..
Or.. Slenderman as an "easteregg"

Well, so far most of the Fables in the game do have their roots in actual stories. I can't recall very many completely original ones being introduced in the game yet other than Toad Jr., Holly, Lily, and possibly Vivian, (but we don't know anything about her backstory). I have a thread on it, if you want to know where everyone comes from: http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/comment/1087022

Anyway, the Fables universe consists of characters from fairy tales, folklore, myths, legends, and some literary sources. Anything is really fair game, though it tends to focus more on classic stories. The Wind in the Willows, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, these are all very old stories. Shrek may be too modern. Also, from a practical standpoint, it uses characters that are in the public domain.

  • Thank you for your thread. It educated on me on the origins of faith. As I thought that was an original fable made by telltale!
Yes, Shrek maybe "too modern" but you gotta admit, an adult originated shrek would be awesome :P
