Yes or No to Clementine dying?

I understand that Clementine, being our playable character for this season, will have to experience some very climatic events that will involve her being put in harm's way. I'm just wondering.. for the sake of a good plot, do you think her death is fitting or not to the rest of the game?

  • Life would end if Clementine died...

  • Yeah.. I personally thought that if telltale were to kill clementine, it would signify that Season 2 would be the last season (or last for a while) of the walking dead.

Life would end if Clementine died...

  • Nah it'd be lazy for TTG to kill off clem at the end of season 2 like lee in season1

  • It would make everything pointless.

  • No.

Lee dying was sad, but it wasn't 'disappointing' from a narrative standpoint. He'd protected and saved Clementine, and so long as she is alive he has still succeeded. If Clem was to die, all of season 1 AND season 2 will have amounted to nothing.

  • I honestly hope not. If they were to end the series after this season, I personally think they would leave us with a cliffhanger, most likely Clementine being alone, possibly with only memories of Lee.

  • I would choose OR

  • no, no, no, no and did i say no?

  • There would be no point to season 1 or the story in general. This is about how she goes from a fragile, sweet little girl to a tough as nails survivor using what Lee taught her and putting her skills to the test. I'm not just saying this because we love Clem and don't want her to die, but it just wouldn't be a good idea to kill her off, it would be like killing off the whole game, seeing as she is the face of TTG TWD.

  • Exactly this. This is Clementine's story and we still have yet to see so much of her, so many possibilities in the future.

  • ...it would certainly fit the themes and the bleakness of the license. Nobody is safe, says master Kirkman. You could do this, and make your fanbase cry for weeks, and receive a shit ton of awards for making people cry, that's tried and true.

However, I've mentioned in other threads that although S1 ended beautifully tragic, I think a challenge for this season is to see that girl we have accompanied for three years earn some sort of victory, kick back the world a little in a satisfactory way to end her story for good or for the time being; prove that not everything has to go wrong for us to care.

As she was to us when we finished S1, let her shine as hope.

    TL;DR:

  • Yes, I just hope she doesn't end up traumatized, that would be worse than death. She just has to hold on to the hope Lee shared with her and survive until this is over, whenever that will be.

  • Maybe, maybe yes, maybe yes squared...

...or maybe yes squared times infinity...

...Nah, I'm just joking! FUCK NO! She's our angel. She's basically TTG's mascot! It won't happen!

  • They have to do it someday... I hope they don't but it is The Walking Dead we are talking about. Telltale is just waiting for our love to grow so they can curb stomp it.

Now that I think about it, what kind of horrible, heartless shell of a human being is going to say a flat out 'yes' to this question anyway? :S

  • I dont think Clementine dying would be a good ending

  • I'm hoping she's not going to die soon, but after few more season's she should die. I know it's hard for some people, but that's one of the most valuable lesson Lee taught her: give everything to save people that you love. And Clementine sacrificing her life to protect someone she loves would be perfect ending, very sad thou :(

  • I agree that if Clem goes on to mother some new character and keep them alive just like Lee had her, she could die without leaving me disappointed. Hell, that would actually be a rather nice way to close things off for her.

  • If Clem dies, Procter & Gamble and Kimberly-Clark's stock will both go up a few points as result

  • people who would likely soon have the fanbase knocking down their door

  • No, I don't want her to die, and I don't think it would make a fitting end. You followed her throughout season 1 and now season 2, you're watching her grow up. However, I have this feeling that at the of season 2, Clem will be so emotionally damaged that only an empty shell of her remains.
Don't wanna see that either :(

  • Of course NO.

  • As sad as that would be, I don't see how that would fit with Clem's story in S2. Lee made the ultimate sacrifice to protect Clem and reach for redemption, but that doesn't seem to be the arc TTG is going for with Clem. I feel like they're aiming for a forgiveness and loss of innocence story arc. Killing Clem off (at least this season), doesn't seem like it would fit any sort of storyline the game is trying to achieve.
