Ideas for video game TVshows

edited November 2008 in General Chat
Which video game do you think is good enough to have its own television series? I thought Sly Cooper should have his own TV show, because a perfessional theif like him gets into all sorts of adventures, and likes to flirt with a sexy policewoman:p.

I think Homeworld or Homeworld: Catalcysm would both make excellent television shows, provided you had the right combination of writers, directors, and actors. Even more important, though, would be the music. The music of the Homeworld games is a very important part of the experience, and does an excellent job in establishing the mood of the game. Since the Homeworld games have definite endings to them, I'd say a TV series based off of them would last one or two seasons before drawing to a close. Ideally, I'd put the number of episodes at 26 or 32, as there are 16 missions in the game, though the first two or three missions could be condensed into a single episode or two that would set the stage for the rest of the series.

BRILLIANT!!! The makings of a classic right there.

Hm. For me, it's not as much a question of which game is good enough, but whether its story would fit a week-by-week format. The Metal Gear games are my favorite games, for example, but I don't think they'd work well as a TV show.

Planescape: Torment could be good. An amnesiac protagonist, powerful forces moving mortals like chess pieces, and multitudes of portals to all sorts of different worlds. I'd watch it.

It'd be hard to make a game that's not cartoony into a TV show, and there's already a Mario show (or there was anyway).Although the Dead Space animated movies look pretty good.

Who wouldn't watch "Tetris: The Animated Series"? That's got instant hit written all over it!

The Fallout series would make a great TV show, I think--especially if it was on HBO or something where they could really let loose.

I don't know if I'm just making up a memory (sometimes, that happens) but I think there was a Battletoads cartoon at one point.

hmm... thinking about it, I remember an intro of some kind... but oddly enough nothing else.

    No character voices or anything...

That does explain why our collective memories of this are so fleeting

It would be cool if there was a Silent Hill TV series, and they can have real-life characters and scenes like Supernatural and Criminal Minds(they make very creepy serial killer crime scenes). I mean, it is possible for some innocent travelers who get trapped in the town and have to survive the unspeakable horrors that hunger for fresh meat; I think I scared myself after saying that.

In the opposite direction of the topic, I want to see a Family Matters game. Seriously.

Destroy the Winslow house as Steve with Havok and Euphoria physics engines! Collect boxes of Urkel-O's to unlock secret characters and locations! Use your mighty snort to foil Carl's attempts to get you to go home! Fight Urkel-Bot to the death! Win Laura's affections, and a giant plate of cheese to boot! 30 classic Polka tunes! 6 multiplayer modes, including "Did I Do That?", a race to amass the most property damage! Countless classic Urkel lines!

Relive the early 90s, big guy!
