Question: Why doesn't Clem have an issue with swearing anymore?

  • I just don't like the fact that we missed all of the molding of Clem to this stage, it seems like we missed too much of her life

I think we can all agree to a certain extent about this. I have done some brainstorming over the last couple of weeks on thing's I'd have done differently with the episodes. All That Remains tried to completely tear what we knew about these characters and their situations from the get-go, and at this point, I think I can say that was a mistake.

The challenge was to make Clementine our protagonist, and the way they approached it was to skip a year and some months so that we could have a sense of entering a blank slate... problem is, Clementine will never be a blank slate after going through Season 1, and the time jump makes the transition all the less smooth for many people.

What...the....hell...? Weirdest comparison ever. Of all time. I just don't like the fact that we missed all of the molding of Clem to this s

  • See, we're all on the same page. Now, let's all listen to a good ol' Communist speech!

  • I do swear sometimes when with friends and family but usually it's for me to project a particularly strong emotion. I think people view swearing as one of those things that children never (or should never) do. Clem starting to do it would mark the ending of her childhood and I know a lot of people don't want that. I'd be okay if she dropped the f-bomb if something truly earth-shattering happened, but not if she starts sounding like Kenny.

  • After all she is still a kid so she might feel uncomfortable :0

Yeah, she's more lenient with some of the milder curse words though she's still sensitive about stronger language being used.

Is it wrong that I try to get her to swear as much as possible?

I think you're making this way more complicated than it is. She's a pre-teen in a situation where she's in danger pretty much 24/7, around adults who don't really care to censor themselves for a little girl. Swearing might be a subconscious form of steeling herself against the world she's in, making herself feel a little tougher. Or, it could just be the fact that she hears it so often that it's become a norm to her. People swear when they get hurt or something bad/annoying happens because it makes them feel better, that could very well be applied to Clementine.

Not inevitable. The psyche is as resilient as the mentality of the individual, while others broke, she kept herself together. I could unders

  • As others have already said, she is older. How many times do you hear an eight year old swear, compared to someone aged eleven. Go near any school here in the UK when it's home time and you will hear some eleven year olds swear worse than many adults.
