Well this was very well thought out. No, not at the end they dont. But i wanted to build a good relationship with people while they were still alive.

  • i guess we will just have to wait and see ;)

  • The story is always the same, it's not like you can get a different ending or anything, that's not what the choices are meant for. The choices just determine the way your story plays out. They don't stimulate the story in a while different direction, it's not meant to be that type of game.

  • You know right now, it seems like our choices affected Season Two a little. Like Clem's talk about Lee, mentoning Lilly about that RV situation, Kenny's thoughts about Lee and all. I want to see a really cool stuff. Like ''if you spared cannibals we'll see them in Carver's community.'' Something like that. Right now our Season One choices stayed in words. I hope we'll see something that makes us say; ''Now that's what I call choices matters.'' I believe Telltale... probably.

  • The choices we make don't change the outcome of the ending. We fill in the gaps leading up to the end and decide what kind of man Lee become.

  • Interesting diagram. One slight mistake, Christa and Omid will help you find clem just if you leave her at the house, you dont need to give her the gun.

  • It has an effect on Clementines personality. At least in theory.

Also on the nature of her relationship with Kenny, if he and Lee were constantly at odds then she'd be far less likely to like him.

  • Have you ever heard of the saying: "Go along for the journey, not the destination."?

  • Got it from the wiki.
    All That Remains:
This list shows the narrative consequences effected by choices from previous episodes of Season 1.

Clementine will say two different lines when dropping the bottle of water in the restroom, "Oh, shoot!" or "Oh, shit!", depending on if you mentioned the term "shit" to Clementine on Hershel's farm in "A New Day".
When Luke talks to Clementine about her wounded arm after being treated, and you choose to respond "Better than losing it" or "It's ugly", she will then recall Lee losing his arm, if you chose to cut it off in "No Time Left". This will make her say "I had a friend who lost his arm once".
Another effect of cutting Lee's arm off in "No Time Left" is Clementine's response to the walker tied to a tree. She will notice the walker tried to cut its arm off before it died. If Lee cut his arm off, she will comment on how that never works.
Depending on Clementine leaving Lee to reanimate or shooting him, Clementine will have different dialogue when she interacts with Luke on the table about her story. If Clementine says "I killed him", she will have different lines. If she leaves Lee to reanimate, she will state that she was too young and stupid to make right choices because she caused the death of Lee, and if she shoots him, she will state that he got bitten and she had to shoot him.
Depending on what advice Lee gave Clementine in "No Time Left", Clementine may describe Lee somewhat differently to Luke. If Lee advised Clementine to keep her hair short, Clementine will say Lee's the one who taught her to keep her hair short. If Lee gave Clementine any other advice, Clementine will instead say Lee's the one who taught her how to shoot a gun or say that Lee told her to stay away from cities.

    A House Divided

If you helped Pete in the previous episode and you choose to respond "Cutting it off won't work" when Pete asks for the saw, Clementine can say "I knew someone who tried it", this is refering to Lee if you amputated his arm in "No Time Left".
If you helped Nick in the previous episode and you choose to respond "I knew someone like you", Clementine will mention Ben Paul who was screwing up during Episode 3 and 4 of Season 1.
If Clementine decides to train Sarah to shoot a gun, she will tell her what Lee told Clementine during her gun training in "Long Road Ahead".
If you respond with "A woman in our group" to Alvin while discussing Nick's decision to kill Matthew, Clementine will mention Lilly killing Carley/Doug and her fate afterward in "Long Road Ahead".
Kenny will mention that Lee was a "hell of guy" or they had their differences depending if Lee sided with Kenny or not throughout Season 1.
Kenny will mention the scene where he went missing from Lee's group, whether it being the dark room, or the infested alleyway.
Kenny will either mention that Lee "took care" of Duck for him, if Lee chose to shoot Duck or that Lee "helped him do the right thing" if Lee makes Kenny shoot Duck in "Long Road Ahead" or if Lee left Duck to reanimate, Kenny will say "he was there for me".
Kenny will mention that he tried to save Ben or Christa if Lee chose to save Ben or let him die in "Around Every Corner".

  • Well, the relashionships with the characters are what mattered (to me).... BTW kenny didnt die! That is rong :P

  • exactly

  • For the end result? No, our choices don't/won't matter. However, it does matter for YOUR personal experience (and the personalities of the characters). The freedom to make different choices offer us this unique story, and you can even see the consequenses of your choices back in Season 2. And nobody would care about the ending (or the game itself) if the rest of the game was garbage

BTW, creating different endings would be pretty hard, because ttg will probably make more seasons and then they would have to make multiple storylines, it would take a year to make a new episode.

Story tailored by your choices no but at least it had puzzles and hub areas without linear forced options so I didn't mind

  • Unfortunately. I think it would increase the immersion just like Mass Effect, even though Mass Effect's voice action is crappy compared to Telltale's games.

  • I agree, except I don't think Andy ran away. He was screaming at us to kill him, so I think he didn't run from the walkers. Also, Danny is dead no matter what as there was no way to get him out of the bear trap.

  • Too many people are trying to compare the choices to something like Knights of the Old Republic or Mass Effect, when TWD isn't supposed to be that. At all.

I think people are expecting too much when it comes to choices, and it never says "This game will completely chance depending on your actions" It says "The story is tailored by how you play" which is different.

  • well some choices affect dialogue like in the first episode when you see the zombie tied to the tree clem says "looks like he tried to cut it out" if you did cut it off she would've said "looks like he tried to cut it out... , but that never works..." she learned something with that and Luke later says something about her scar and he said "better than a stump." clem then says "My friend had one, one time." and in the last episode of season one before lee dies you can say certain things and it will say "clem will remember this" like I said "stay away from cities" It could affect later in the season like in the last episode of season 2 the cover of episode 5 there is a city in the background could possibly change something.

  • Well... whether or not they'll affect any scenarios in season two... we don't know yet, too soon to know. Although I don't think it really matters how it plays out in season one because the ending is really what matters the most, which could be season two or season three, if there will be one (which I doubt).

The dialogue is depending on your choices from Season 1 in Season 2.
Like when Clementine talked to Luke about Lee...(Depending on what you said to Clem as Lee in S1)

"He's the reason I keep my hair short."

"He taught me how to shoot a gun."

"He told me to stay away from cities."....foreshadowing

  • I have a feeling Kenny will eventually ask what happened to Lee after he saved Clementine, whether or not we had Clem kill Lee, his reaction will be different towards her, depending on Lee's death.
