For what we know (based on what Scott Porter said) Luke will come back in episode 3 or at least in future episodes.

Kenny murders Luke? More like Lilac will murder Kenny if he even so much as dares to lay a finger on that puppy! But yeah, extremely unlikely. More possible Kenny could've punched Luke or something and told him to get lost if Kenny had refused to leave the group behind.

I do believe though that Luke will have a huge role in helping them out of Carver's camp.. I believe Clem will assemble her own group to choose who to take out with a mix of the cabin survivors, Kenny, Sarita and the 400 days folks.
