    If you mean the company Telltale, here is what I like (and the few things I'm not so happy with) -

    * awesome custumer service. And I mean, *really* good!
    * friendly people and even post often in the forums, which is always cool
    * quality games on a frequent schedule, must be extremely stressful!
    * lots of good humor
    * cool licences, which they use in a very good way!
    * lots of cool merchandise
    * free DVDs sent out if you buy an entire season - a huge plus!

    Some few things I'm not entirely satisfied with -

    * online activation (but as long as they keep sending out these DVDs at the end of seasons with a disc based check instead, it's not a problem)
    * difficulty level - their games are consistantly too easy
    * CSI - I don't care much for these games (but I don't like the television series either, so this does not mean the games are bad.. they're just not my taste)
    * graphics could be better. The engine they use could benefit from an upgrade to take better advantage of better computers.

    Telltale is my favourite company. :)
    Hey, you know what'd make you guys even BETTER?
    You should make a Monkey Island game!

    I'd say mostly that they are keeping adventure gaming alive. I also have noticed that, like Bungie, that they keep in touch with their fanbase, which is something I respect.

    The ingame music has been good, and the games have been pretty polished.

    I like that they pay my paycheck. Also, the candy drawer. :D

    Regarding the games themselves, I like that they're short enough to finish in a day or two. Not just because I have to play them over and over for my job (although the length definitely helps with that!), but also because the idea of sitting down to start a new game can be daunting when you don't have much free time for gaming. The story is the most important thing to me in a game, and it's no fun to get invested in a story and then take a break and come back a few weeks/months later and not remember what's going on.

    I also like the fan community. I like that there are so many people who support us and are excited about what we're doing.

    I would've applied for Telltale long ago, were it not for a few things...
    1. I haven't done much with any high-level scripting languages... yet. A second job I'm looking into right now would see me using Ruby on Rails and Python quite often.
    2. I haven't had any experience in the gaming industry. This is hardly surprising seeing as how I'm in my early 20s and would ideally still be in college right now.
    3. I don't have a B.S. in C.S. yet. As I said above, I'm no longer in college due to financial issues that cropped up in my family and with myself which caused me to have to abandon my education a third of the way through.
    4. And probably the biggest thing holding me back: I couldn't bear to be away from my family. Well, half-an-hour's drive wouldn't be so bad, but a 6+ hour plane ride is a bit much for visiting my family every weekend. That and I absolutely love New England, and can't see myself living anywhere else. Especially sunny California. They don't get snow in California, do they? I like snow.

    Why I shared all this is beyond me. I just like to talk a lot. Also I love Telltale. Also I wish I could work for them, and I guess its good to vent my frustrations.

    Actually, parts of California get quite a bit of snow :)

    Good luck dude. I actually have a degree and the gaming industry is one I am interested in (I did apply to Telltale and a few other places). Kinda rough right now but I have been getting some good leads lately, in and out of the game industry. I would say that the economy sucks right now, however, you don't have to get a degree within 5 years. I know plenty of students that took longer than that since a CS degree can get rough at times.

    You can get around the "no CS degree" issue. The #1 thing you can do: make games. It doesn't have to be C or C++, though either of those two languages certainly would help. Flash would be an easy way to get a game out, especially if it's 2d. You can give XNA on the 360 a shot as well. Still, there's also freeware and open source.

    I'm actually working on a game, though both time and energy have gotten into the way more than anything else. In fact, I probably have spent as much time making the support tools as I have making the plot.

    If California didn't get snow, I wouldn't live here. :) Tahoe says "hi!"

    I'll need to hurry up and invent the Portal gun so my daily commute will be as simple as rolling out of bed, literally. Whee! Undressed man goes in, undressed man comes out!
