Would you recommend the Comics?

edited May 2014 in The Wolf Among Us
Well, I'm new basically to the Fables series after playing the three Wolf Among Us episodes. I was wondering if many of you read the comics also. Would you recommend it? Wolf Among Us has definitely attracted my interest in them, after I always used to notice them in Comic stores.

  • Yes the comics are great instead of only focusing on Bigby (He is one of the main characters though) it goes through all the Fables.

    I highly recommend them!

I give the comics a badass seal of approval. (from what I read so far)

They just couldn't get any more badass, and at the same time, they do. Alongside a main course of burger and fries, with a side of Glamour.
  • Badass seal of approval.....are you fellow watcher of the man named Angry Joe?

  • I do watch his reviews occasionally! But when I was typing out my previous comment, I wasn't thinking about his badass seal of approval thing until after you had mentioned it in your reply to me. :D

Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes. The comics are utterly brilliant. Mature and thought-provoking, and in a deeper and more fundamental way than the game, so if you're squeamish they might not be for you. If you have strong political feelings it might also be troublesome. It's not relevant in any literary sense, but the series carries some republican undertones and highly liberal readers have occasionally been offended. It starts off relatively light, though, and the dialogue is very intelligent throughout.
  • Comics are amazing. And Bigby is even bigger badass than in game.
  • They are ridiculously good
  • Yes!! X 1000
  • Omg of course I would recommend you just started reading them myself! Totally hooked!!
  • I went into the comics, expecting only to like Bigby and Snow only to find myself loving all of the other badass in the comics. I highly recommend it. :)

Overall they are very good, I started to read them too and its actually first time I ever read a comic. Trough you might want to finish the last 2 episodes first because I think it does kinda diminish the nice simple story of murder investigation when you get to the part when they take on the adversary, travel back to homelands and so on. It has quit a different feel than the game. Closest to the games story is probably first issue about Rose Red murder or the Boy Blue adventures in homelands.
  • Ya, they are pretty amazing. pick up the first deluxe edition and I promise you wont put it down.. omg the first time you get to see the farm.. so good!
  • I've read every issue to date, and they're one of the most amazing reads I've ever had. You'd be a fool to pass up any opportunity on getting a volume. The art work is fantastic and the story arcs are insane and amazing and Willingham has a way to tie it all together with a bow of emotions that fits just right in my heart. (I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable, this is just my personal opinion xD)
