Why isn't Kenny handcuffed?

For that matter why is everyones handcuffs infront of them when last time it was behind? I think Carver should have been more clever and not put the handcuffs infront of them since its easier to strangle people like that. I hope its just for the trailer, because if thats true. My suspention of belief will be a bit stretched.

    He had a box of bobby pins in his beard.

    He might have gotten beaten up before he was put on the truck, or while he was on it. When they open the trailer, Kenny pulls his hand away from his eye, and it looks bruised. It's hard to tell though.
