Anyone else hoping that episode 3 is really really sad and depressing?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
I want to be overwhelmed with 'feels'. I want episode 3 to be the hope crusher with just the slightest of hope left. I want TTG to pulls no punches and has players to the point of panic and despair and just when it seems some characters will make it out 1/3-1/2 of them get killed off. I want Carver and some of his goons to get away just to piss off players even more. I want to see epic reactions on youtube.
Is there something wrong with me or is anyone craving epic sadness?

    EVERYONE DIES
  • honestly i hope that at least 1 episode is not ending badly
  • I want this to be spicier than episode 3 of season 1.... muhahaha...

  • As long as Kenny is alive and Clem is alive, I'm happy
  • Yeah. Oddly, I want this episode to be really sad but I kind of want episode 5 to end happily with some people out of the group still alive. I want tons of bloodshed in this one though.

Well, episode 3 is having a better writer, so you'll probably get what you want.
  • It sure as hell better be, I've come to expect nothing less than heartache, and that's what I damn well better get!
  • Im not interested in misery porn. I dont know why the game has to be full of "feels" and by this people usually mean the bad kind, to be good. Just tell a good, well written, realistic (for the genre) story and Im satisfied.
  • Clem is huggin Kenny again in this episode. I have a bad feeling that something is gonna happen to him. :(

Not really. I hope to see a interesting story with good characters . A good episode in my eyes can end with an happy end, too. The fascinating on TWD is for me the progress of the characters and the human race. I don`t need everytime blood, gore and death to enjoy the Game. A lot of times in Season 1 I just loved the happy scenes. But this is just my opinion.
  • There is a zombie movies called "Warm bodies". Maybe thats more of your cup of tea. Feels are inevitable in the walking dead universe.

  • Better to get the sad part over now then get smacked with a feel'nami at the end of the season.

Why would that be my cup of tea? Ive seen enough zombie movies to know that they are wretched. People die horribly and most of them dont have happy endings. Im a big fan of the tv show and they rarely have anything good happening to them there. That doesnt mean I want to wallow in these characters having horrible things happening to them just so I can feel something. Thats my point. I feel like people want these games to just be excuses to make them feel bad.

  • Honestly, I feel like it's great when I cry and feel feels at moments in this game. I really want there to be those moments in this one, there have so far been crying/feels moments in both season two episode so far so that's good. (Episode 1) Omid's death - Clem crying Episode (Episode 2) Kenny's Return

Its all in good fun as long as it moves the plot :P Misfortune creates story fuel like revenge, survival, and other things.

TWD is pretty hard core on misfortune. Just look at season 1. Im just saying maybe TWD is not your kind of story.

  • Got goose bumps when I read that.

I want the episode to be so good we panic!!!
  • I cryed at omids death but I kinds knew Kenny was coming so didn't cry.

I cried when I saw clem get hit in the trailer.

im probably going to cry during this episode. I can guarantee it.

  • I want a better episode and a better story. If there's a feeltrip to get there, good.
  • Yeah, I mostly just shouted when I saw her get hit and wanted to go into the game and hug her with how hurt she looked and yeah, there will be tears.

I just want it to be long enough that's all what I want not waiting another F****** 2 months.
  • Yep, we're due for another classic Telltale gut punch. S1E3 had at least 3 of those moments. Carley/Doug, zombie Clem, Katjaa and Duck.

I don't think this episode will disappoint.
  • I forget his name, but he's the guy behind episode 1 of TWAU.

I for one have no problem with Breckon, but the guy doing this one is evidently pretty damn good.

  • I heard Breckon's doing the finale episode. Not saying Nick's bad but.... a genius should come forth with the fifth and final episode.

If I was in charge (which I'm not) I'd probably make a finale an all-hands on deck kind of thing. Get all the writers to put their heads into it.

Though there's also the possibility that'd mean they'd constantly disagree on the best way to do it and nothing would ever get done. But still. :S

  • Maybe some of the masterminds from last season should return for a couple episodes this season. Such as Gary and Sean. And lets not forget Mark who I believe if I'm not mistaken wrote the episode "Starved For Help". I am praying this season's finale tops last season or at least turns out equally great with the good old fashioned cliffhanger ending foreshadowing a possible season 3. But with NICK on the job, I don't know it's looking a tad dicey.

  • Ya I want them to get balls deep in that feel. no 'feel-mo' though but I feel ya

  • first off, it sounds more like u just want violence directed on the player's group. that's like bein the guy that lobs a grenade at the start point of ur own team just to kill 'em all and piss 'em off. that's not a game, that's just a troll. there's no story in "how much skin can we rip off till they die?" it's bloody and gory, but there's not much else to it. we need a little more. if they tried to pull what u're asking, i could see them struggling for the next 2 episodes to make enough of a comeback that others beyond die-hard walking dead fans bother with season 2. like "it was all a bad dream" or star ocean's "you were actually in a video game" kinda bad.

they do need conflict, but there's gotta be more to it. there's already no hope. things are shit, and about the only things they could possibly throw into the mix to really make it worse would be putting carver, kenny, lily, christa, clem, and nate all in one room. with a block of salt lick.
  • I think you're still missing my point. I don't have a problem with misfortunes happening. As I said, I've seen a lot of zombie movies and tons of horror movies in general and I'm a big fan of this game series. I just don't want these games to have "feels" in place of story. Do you know what I mean? What happens to the characters, good or bad, should serve the story, not just be shock value or there to wring tears out of you.

  • I hear you, but I don't want them to over do it. The only reason Ep3 of season one was AMAZING was because it was unexpected, not that everyone died. If a lot of unexpected crap at the same level of last seasons Ep 3 happens, I will be a happy camper.
