Carlos... Is he even a real doctor?

Carlos, you would think he would know what a dog bite would look like vs a human bite. Human jaws are rounded, where dog jaws are triangle shaped. Was the bite rounded Carlos?

  • He wasn't the only one, Luke and Pete both couldn't tell the difference.

I just think he was stupid in that one instance for the sake of the plot.

  • Carlos is as smart as the plot calls for. If he needs to perform surgery then he's smart enough to do that. if he needs to lock Clem in a shed then he's dumb enough to do that.
  • Who doesn't know the difference between a dog bite and a human bite. Common sense, wait a minute....

    Carlos is Sarah's Father!

  • I just had another thought.

I can now prove Carlos is more stupid than Ben.
  • I think he let her in the shed to no take risk , but I didn't like that he just let her to die.
  • Carlos is a evil mastermind who works for the master saltlick and together they will spread saltlicks around the world and replace the zombies with SALTLICKS!
  • What even is a saltlick? Is it just a massive block of salt?

  • It also doesn't help the bite was a slash and not an actual bite. Fail on two levels: plot and texture duty.
  • Their for livestock, they lick them so they get the necessary requirements of salt.

  • Join the saltlick army or perish

  • Yes, but his doctorate is in theology.
  • So you are saying that everyone in the cabin are dumb since they couldn't tell the difference. Also the scar looked like a human bit with its circular shape. They took precaution to protect the group so what? Even if its a girl like clem can do a lot of damage if she is a zombie.

Carlos might be a doctor but we are not told in what field. A single doctor doesn't know everything.

In the real world, that would happen. Yes she is a little girl but they had similar trouble before. Most would be cautious to help clem.
  • Dude, play season 1.

I want to know why telltale made a doctor seem stupid?

Coulden't they just took Clem in the house with Nick and pete with gun's to wait and see if she turned?
  • Couldn't they have done what you said expect with Pete holding a saltlick?

  • Carlos's medical advice: Shed

I hope that they get to show more of Carlos' medical skills so we know that he is a doctor. So far, I haven't seen anything that suggest that he could be a doctor besides the one instance where he bandaged Clem's arm back in Episode 1.
  • I understand what you are saying. It was longer than a human bit, but if you look at walkers, there mouths all fucked up and create random shape. This will come into play. All I'm saying is that Carlos took precaution, which you have to do in that world, too keep all safe.

Plus like others said, telltales done that to contiue to create the clem medical scene for us. So it doesn't protray what carlos is really like.

PS: read again what i said frist time. There are a lot more reason than the shape not to help her.

I think we've established that Carlos is not the sharpest tool in the shed (no pun intended).

Carlos: This bite could be anything, I don't know. It's not like I went to college and medical school to study this shit.

Carlos: How big is the little house Clem?

Carlos: I can't figure out how to turn this wind turbine off so Clem, YOU do it.

All three of those are examples of bad writing and plot stupidity, NOT character stupidity.

This is especially obvious in that when Carlos asks clem how big the house is, she doesn't go 'wtf', or say 'it's little, as i said...', she actually says 'It pretty big', hence why it's clearly not carlos' own stupidity.

I think we've established that Carlos is not the sharpest tool in the shed (no pun intended). Carlos: This bite could be anything, I d

  • You know...The more I learned about Carlos not being the sharpest tool in the shed, the more I am going to miss him if the worst is going to happen. Because I just can't stop smiling and laugh at his logic.

  • A dog or a zombie tearing your arm looks almost the same.

What's the smartest thing that Carlos has ever done? Usually to rule out character stupidity is that we need to know the character enough to be able to determine that he wouldn't do something that idiotic, but we hardly know Carlos and he hasn't done anything to indicate that he's not an idiot.

  • we haven't seen anything to show he IS an idiot either.

Bite: Clem needed to be put in shed for plot reasons.

    House: bad writing.

Turbine: Clem needed to be there while the others protected her for plot. Also, Carlos isn't the only one who is fine with letting an 11 year old do it.

For one thing the entire cabin group seem to trust him.

Rebecca is comfortable with his medical skills enough that she trusts him to make sure her pregnancy goes okay.

The bite does make him seem like an idiot. That's like a mechanic who doesn't know how to fix a car, a pilot who doesn't know how to fly a helicopter, or a police officer who doesn't know how to shoot a gun. I'm beginning to have little faith in his medical abilities.

I'll take your word for the "little house" being bad writing, but it still did not do his character any favors.

Carlos was the one in charge after Kenny and Luke left and that's what he does when he's leading? Letting a little girl turn off an out of control wind turbine? Luke being the one to lead the group out of Carver's camp is starting to make more sense every passing moment.

The entire cabin group trust each other, so what?

Rebecca doesn't have a choice because Carlos is the only "doctor" they have.
