Shouldn't Clem...

Just replaying the walking dead season 2 and just noticed (my detective skills suck :( ) that Clem should have turned after eating the can of beans. I mean she used the knife to open the can. It had the blood of the walker on it.

Comments

  • She wipes off the blood I thought.
  • Using knowledge that not going to get ride of the virus cells.

She also rubs walker blood on the cut on her face in the EP3 trailer. I'm pretty sure it spreads through saliva.
  • Yeah but I don't think she touched the food with the knife so the only way it could happen is if blood drips into the food

Using knowledge that not going to get ride of the virus cells.

  • That wouldn't make any sense. If it can pass through the saliva the same should happen with blood contact.

  • She stabs the can. Baked beans can aren't half full, they are filled to the top. The blade pushing through the can lid would touch the beans. You can cearly see she wasn't careful when punching holes into the can.

  • Well she put the blood oh her jacket and under she has long sleeves

  • She rubs it on her jeans. Im not talking about the bit on her arm btw.

  • Well im going with the conclusion that the blood doesn't do anything or telltales doesn't give a shit about logic.
  • It honk it passes through the saliva, not the blood of the walkers.

That's why when she used I to the can she didn't die.

Also Troy hit her and caused a cut on her face, and you can see her outing what it seems to be zombie blood on her face.
  • how can it be passed through saliva but not the blood is what makes me question but like I said i came to the conclusion telltales doesn't give a shit about logic.

  • The wound is already closed or else she would be dead.

It isn't Telltales fault, in the comics The Governor was able to kiss a zombie and not get infected. Blame Robert Kirkman.

  • Then Robert Kirkman can't stick to his own logic.... I blame him :(.

In the comics blood can infect people but only if it gets into a wound when someone uses a contaminated weapon. Clem wiped the knife clean which got all of the blood off the blade which seemed to make it safe to use on the can of beans. But i do agree that it did seem slightly illogical to use a dirty knife on something that you are going to eat.

Well im going with the conclusion that the blood doesn't do anything or telltales doesn't give a shit about logic.

  • If they follow the logic OP says, she would get infected because of a can of bean's and a knife which is a stupid and boring death
  • I don't think it closed that fast.

  • Could be that the disease is strictly generated in the mouth of a walker/ saliva glands.

  • One night and 5 days + the time Clementine will spend at the camp. More than enough time for this wound to close so that walter blood can't enter your bloodstream.

I don't think it closed that fast.

  • If Brian can tongue-kiss his little zombie niece in the comic, Clementine can eat walker blood without turning aswell.
  • No, only zombie blood/saliva that enters ones bloodstream directly can kill you.

Then Robert Kirkman can't stick to his own logic.... I blame him :(.

  • True but I like use of logic. It makes it more real. Telltales could have done something else to end up where she could have ate the beans.

  • Tell that to Troy, you can clearly see it in the trailer.

Blunt force impacts can cut you.

  • Well Clem found Mathew's knife in the small building near the track's with the food? The knife had no blood or dirt as if Mathew cleaned it and not used it since he washed the knife.
Therefore Clem will be fine opening the bean's with the knife

They already infected that's mean they have the virus in their blood but I still didn't get how somebody would turn from a bite if you think about it--the walker just sinks his teeth then what?? They turn? That's ridiculous exept if the walkers splash a virus from their throats

She stabs the can. Baked beans can aren't half full, they are filled to the top. The blade pushing through the can lid would touch the beans. You can cearly see she wasn't careful when punching holes into the can.

  • WTF you on about? Im talking about episode 1 of season 2 not episode 2. She hasn't even met Mathew or even near him during this stage.

  • The bite causes the infection to start spreading. I thought about what you did, too, but the bite simply adds more of the virus into them, speeds up the process, and kills you. Then, as we know, the bite doesn't make you turn, but dying does.

I still don't understand the logic of this virus very well either. it seems that:

    - an infected knife which was cleaned just with a cloth. and then touched the food.

    - contact with saliva.

    - cover the body with zombie guts. that leaves the skin in direct contact with the rotting flesh.

None of that seems to infect a living organism. only the direct bite of a walker. maybe there's something in the mouth of the walker. maybe it's Walker drool!??
  • Walkers are like komodo dragons. Toxic drool

  • Dafuq? That happens O__O I honestly don't really read the comics but that's sorta fucked up.
  • The Governor is getting that zombie puss
  • pretty much like that i think.
