I thought that we could make our own backstories for characters that weren't fully explored on their backstory. I'll do a character every week. This week's character is Mark! You can make her backstory however you like. A serious backstory, and funny backstory. How ever you want it to be.

(Like when you told Mark that Larry is an "old racist asshole" and then told Larry that you said that about him)
Mark always wanted to be a writer. He loved words, and books and all things literature, which put him at odds with his father, a career military man. Mark's father wanted his son to go into the military for nearly his entire life, but after high school Mark decided to pursue his dream of writing. Furious at his son's blatant disregard for his wishes, Mark's father refused to support Mark's post high school education, leading Mark to drop out after a year of college due to lack of funds. After drifting around the state for a few years, looking for jobs that never seemed to last for more than a month or so, Mark caved in. His father promised him financial support to pursue a career as a writer if he would serve two years in any branch of the military, and Mark decided on the air force. At the beginning of his second year in the service, Mark was transferred to Robins Air Force Base near Macon a week before the dead rose and the base was overrun.
His father was in the army and his mother was a secretacy.
He had a older brother, Mike, and a little sister called Emma.
He lived a easy and good life in his hometown of Macon, until his father was killed in action when he was 7.
After that, his family began to break apart.
His mother started to drink and met strangers regulary.
Because of that, Mark started to hate his mother when he got older.
He couldn't help but feel disgusted by her way of handling his father's death, and the second he was old enough he left his miserable old mother to herself, taking his sister with him so she could at least HAVE a life and not what was going down at their parents home.
They moved to Atlanta, but Mark never had the money to go to college, as his mother stopped working after Mark's father died. He was looking for every job he could lay his hands of, but never succeeded. The money wasn't enough for him and his sister, so she left him when she met a boyfriend.
After that, his life became better. He started working for the army at some point, and it wasn't a bad job.
His job was mainly mechanical, he was trained with firearms, though.
Shortly before the outbreak, his sister got married.
She couldn't bring herself not to invite her mom, but she didn't show up anyway.
She didn't even drop a phone call.
Mark, furious about it as it clearly upset his sister, went to his mother's home to give her a lecture.
He only found his mom's dead body.
Overdose.
Although he was shocked, he was never really sad about it. He didn't admit it in front of his sister, but he actually hated his mother a lot for his bad childhood.
He returned to work at Warner Robbins Air Force Base until shit hit the fan.
When the outbreak started, he was hiding inside the Base while his comrades deserted or died.
He was the only one left in the base.
(Note: Now here comes a part that I used for my Fanfiction [wich unfortunatley (?) is German only])
About 9 days after the outbreak, he was driving along the road looking for supplies, when he saw a large horde of walkers surrounding some survivors.
He saved them with his military truck and took them to 'his' base.
They were Luke and Sam Rubyford, brothers from the town of Tifton. They were with a security guard, Gary Trevato, who was bit.
Mark was furious when he found out and insisted on cutting the arm of.
However, Gary still died and Luke put him down with great grief (he's 16 and Sam 14 btw)
After that, the three of them lived at the Base alone, using it's defence measures against the walkers.
Some other survivors attacked them, of wich one's thumb was bit of by Luke. He had a little daughter, Annie, and a friend, Jessie, with him.
They came from Atlanta and had witnessed the napalm attacks.
Luke was shot in the shoulder by accident, and Mark looked out for him.
Then, one day, walkers attacked the Base, killing Annie, driving Nate into suicide (the girl's father) and ultimateley got Jessie killed when she and Luke wanted to go help Sam who was cut of in old guard tower.
Mark covered Luke and Sam from the main building, but suddenly stopped firing.
The brothers thought he was dead and left the overrun base.
Mark actually only ran out of bullets, and took cover in the house.
For another two months, he lived his miserable, alone life.
He was on the verge of giving up, when someone started firing outside.
When he opened the door for the strangers, a outcast Mark was shaken the hand.
'I'm Lee, and we're here to help', the dark-skinned man said.
