Determinant character deaths

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Do you want there to be more determinant character deaths so that you could really shape how the story plays out? It would be cool because it would give you a feeling of almost complete control and make you feel like your decisions are really impacting the story a lot more. I know it must be quite complicated for Telltale and the writers though seeing that you'd have to write scenes with different amounts of characters in. Also if you let all the determinant characters die then you'd probably have a lot shorter episodes than everyone else seeing that you could be missing out on whole conversations and scenes unless its a determinant choice between two different characters.

Anyway would you want more determinant character deaths???

  • No. It's really just a death sentence to me anyway, whether they live or not.

Yeah but what if the determinant characters would live for a lot longer than other determinant characters have if they survived?
So its not just an automatic death sentence later down the line

  • Well, I'll believe that when I see it.

  • It would be really cool but obviously really hard to do

Well, I'll believe that when I see it.

  • I don't like determinant character's because I got the feeling that they are going to die soon no mather what.
  • It would be awesome to see some determinant characters carry over into another season and play an important role, but I feel like that would be extremely difficult and time-consuming for TTG to program. Unless they were only working on TWDG and were really fleshing it out, I doubt they would ever do something like this. I mean even a single determinant choice, like choosing whether Kenny or Luke will be your companion for next season, is basically programming two separate games when you consider their importance to the story line and how they individually interact with Clem.

However, when we come to the last season of this particular story and cast of characters, it would be cool to see a bunch of determinant characters so you have a ton of different options for who makes it out of the season. Especially if you're under the impression for the whole season that they'll die sooner or later. It would be a nice surprise to see them survive. And it would be neat as the player to go back and try different scenarios/outcomes. Plus then the possibilities are endless for your own interpretation of their fate post-game.
