So....who other than me is upset at Reggie's VA?

"No, Reggie won't die in episode 3". Does anyone else remember him saying that in the Playing Dead episode? He lied to us. D:

  • What Talking Dead, where is it? o_O
  • Well, he couldn't exactly say: "Oh, and by the way, I'm gonna die in episode 3" now could he?:)
  • Well, he explicity said his character WOULDN'T die, which he did

  • Everyone is, i didnt really care much though he lightned up the mood, but it just sounded like he wasnt in the game, not like character wise but like if you paused the game and then he narrated it if you know what i mean :/
  • He could have just said "I don't know" "I can't answer that" "It's a secret" "Wait and see" etc. But no, he explicitly said "No". T_T

No, I don't watch The Talking Greg. I'm way more upset at people openly discussing the achievements before the episode is released like everyone already knows about them, wants to know and SHOULD know.

Oh, and it's 'Playing Dead', OP.
  • If he told us that his character would die in episode 3,he would have spoiled the experience for us.I'm still sad about his death. His screen time was very short :(

He means Playing Dead, that show hosted by IGN's Greg Miller where he interviews a voice actor from TWD.

Well he wasn't exactly allowed to say that in the interview really. If he did that would've actually ruined the episode a bit for a majority of us. Was a bit disappointed Reggie was killed so early in the episode though, he died when the episode wasn't even at it's halfway point.
  • he was ok to me, i didn't really cared about reggie and i was like whatever when he died
  • I am. Not like super duper upset or anything, more disappointed that he lied about it. Like Frostbite said "He could have just said "I don't know" "I can't answer that" "It's a secret" "Wait and see" etc. But no, he explicitly said "No". T_T "

I was looking forward to getting to know him and really thought because of what his VA said, that he was going to be a semi-permanent member of the group (because let's face it no one ever stays permanent in a zombie apocalypse.)
  • I for one called it. I felt how they really tried to pull my heartstrings about him, but I was like "No! No, don't get attached to him, he'll die soon anyway."
    And then wham.
    :)
  • Yeeah I don't watch it much sorry xD

You guys are full of it, I watched the playing/talking/whatever dead episode, he said 'I Hope not', and 'I feel that if I do a good job, i'll know it when i'm still employed for the next episode'. Not once does he explicitly say 'Reggie will live throughout episode 3'.
  • When he said no, he looked a little sad and looked away

I've been reading about complaints with his voice acting and I was wondering if it's because of his strong accent and not because of the delivery with his lines. What do you guys think?
  • He said "Not that I know of" as a reply to the question "Will Reggie die in episode 3?". Which was at the point that the episode was almost completed at least, and Reggie died about halfway through the episode (I think), so yeah, he lied. He knew damn well Reggie was going to die at that point.

Uhm, no. Yes to him dieing at that point, No to him knowing. and not only that but they have a Non-disclosure contract that all VA's sign, so even if he did lie, he would've done it because he was pressured by that. I mean he's not a professional VA, give him some slack man.

  • Heres a thing:

Remember that Telltale hired a new writer (The guy from TWAU), to write Episode 3. Perhaps, somewhere during development, he was supposed to live, but plans changed?

That's possible. It's also possible that he did multiple takes as well, one where it wasn't quite as obvious that he died, like Gavin Hammon said Telltale and Bay Area Sound had him do with Kenny. In that case, he really would think that the writers intended for Reggie to live, and his "not that I know of" answer would be truthful.

  • To the non-disclosure policy he could have said "I don't know" or "maybe, maybe not" or something. The episode was so close to complete at that point, I doubt that he didn't know.

  • You're right, we should all be extremely angry that he decided not to spoil a big event in the upcoming Episode. In fact, let's all be mad at Michael Madsen for not telling us that Carver gets his face bashed in, or at Gavin Hammon for not telling us that Kenny loses his eye. How dare they not spoil the entire episode for us before it's even released.
  • Did people really want him to just go out and say. Yes I die at this exact point. He replied that he didnt to throw people off I dont see what the problem is.
  • I'm actually really happy that he misled us. Otherwise I would have been expecting his death because his face is pictured in the "Long Way Down" against what appeared to be a blood splatter.
  • You could sort of guess, by the achievements. Can't remember exact wording, but there was one about death with an icon of Reggie surrounded by blood.
  • No, but he shouldn't have blatantly lied. Now that show can no longer be considered a valid source of information and people are now right to assume everything seen and heard on it is complete bullshit.

He should have said "I don't know" or "I can't disclose anything about the episode" or something.

  • Reggie's voice actor said something like: "It's vague" when asked if he died. Haha, what a troll.
  • Good one.

  • As far as I'm concerned, his voice acting was rather poor and his character was pointless. He was around for a little while, perhaps enough time to start to know about him, and then he is killed off. Waste of good character potential.
  • To be fair, I don't believe he flat out said "No, my character doesn't die." I'm pretty sure it was along the lines of, "Uhhhhhh...it's vague."
  • Good point.

He said "Not that I know of at the current time" if I recall correctly.
