400 days save files got transferred wrong?...

I pretty much skipped 400 days before episode 1 of season 2 came out but when I saw a tweet referencing 400 days involvement in season 2 I decided to play it in the wait between episode 1-2 season 2. In my play through no one went with Tavia but Bonnie yet when I played episode 3 every 400 days character was seen there. I guess playing 1 episode of season 2 before playing 400 days screws up who goes to Carver's or are they all there by default?

    I guess, because when you first create a new save file in season 2 the game looks for your season 1 files.
