What Carver said...

When Carver and Clem where talking in the office I chose the "Im not like you" option. Then when Carver told Clem that they had more in common than she thought it gave my a cold shiver down my spine. I know it did the same to Clem too judging by her reaction. What do you guys think he is talking about?

  • I think Carver is awesome.
  • I find that really interesting too, especially if Clementine is played as a as a more hardened survivor. When she says "I'm not like you" it seems like she's trying to convince herself as much as Carver. It's kind of true. Clementine and basically anyone forced to grow up in that kind of hell is going to be different. It makes you wonder if natural selection is going to slowly weed out compassion and generosity.

    That's truly a disturbing thought.

I think that's more of the theme this season. Deciding whether to do whats morally right or doing what is best for your survival. Like the whole Sarah situation with the berries. You decided whether to help someone in need or do your own work so you wouldn't get in trouble with Carver. I kinda like it.
  • I only chose that option because I've seen that exact conversation is SO many movies, I couldn't resist hearing the classic cliché "We're not so different, you and I.." speech from Carver.
  • Is it pretty funny that this "We're not so different, you and i..." speech he's giving is for 11 -years old girl.

It shows how fucked up the world is now.

  • It should freak you out, because he's talking to YOU.

It's called breaking the fourth wall. Carver isn't so much talking to Clementine as he is to us, the players. It's very subtle, because he's doing it THROUGH Clementine, but this is what's happening here. He's reminding us that Clementine has the potential to be cruel and sadistic like him because WE have the potential to make her that way, through the choices we make for her.
  • It was pretty creepy ,
