Telltale can now do another 2 year time skip

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
so in the new issue of the comics there was a 2 year timeskip since the events of issue 126 now telltale aren't allowed to go further in time than the comics but now since there has been 2 more years added they can go ahead and do it if they want

How would you guys feel about playing as a 13 year old Clem? do you think they will do it in season 3 if there is a season 3?

I think upto 2 years would be better, if Clementine survives season 2 (which i really want to happen) and there is a season 3 i don't want Telltale to do a huge time skip like they did at the start of season 2.
  • if season 3 is gonna happen, i think they need another protagonist
  • Ugh, I hate time skips.
  • I really, really hope that there is a season 3 with Clem... and I really cannot ( and don't want to) imagine it without Clementine
  • I seriously thought about it. I have the feeling that Rebecca wont survive and Clem will be responsible for taking care of her baby during a certain time skip. Season 3 might start when both are older.

Season One to Two was just a two year timeskip though overall.

I even remember back at some comic con panel there was some early poster with Clementine taking care of a small child. This around the time 400 Days was released. Never shown to the public though.

Wow, that is interesting. Maybe tell tale they had a similar thought for Christa's baby at the beginning?

Yeah, i said upto 2 years but didn't mean i wanted another 2 year timeskip as it seemed way too much, there where too many missed events that took place during that time which would have been fun to experience. If there is a season 3 a three to six month time skip would be better.

I would rather do the remaining seasons through those 2 years and not just one single time skip. Also, i'm pretty sure Kirkman doesn't give a shit about TWD anymore and if Telltale asked him "We need 5 years to finish her story" he'll probably give it a go.

I don't like how you're treating other people here, e.g WhatToWriteHere or RosemaryTWDFan.
They have their own opinions and you must accept them.
If you cannot act like a grown up, and talk like a civilized person then GTFO. We don't need people like you here

I disagree, people always like to over-exaggerate by saying timeskips are bad. But they're not, you want to be stuck as the eleven year old Clementine for more than two Seasons? Because I don't, could you imagine if Season Two didn't do one? We'd still be stuck with the nine year old Clementine who had a too much a set-in-stone character. The timeskip allowed us to give control of her emotions since we got to choose if she's become emotionally hardened or still able to express herself.

Plus the games have always wanted to keep in sync in the comics. My bet is Season Three we'll be playing as an 13-14 year old Clem. If she survives the Season, which I'm pretty confident she will.

  • Yes i agree, but time skipping can offer a character some development. In Clem's case, i think she matured a LOT during the time skip with Christa.

  • Cool.

I don't mind time skips if it means we'll get a third season.

It was one of the earliest things I heard about in Season Two. But it did all of the sudden die out. I was wondering for quite awhile what happened to it but it seems the possibility of a Season Three having Clementine defend a young child (like Lee did for her in the first season) could very well happen. Especially since Rebecca is likely going to give birth to the baby in the next episode (I was even surprised it hasn't happened yet).

  • Just because they can doesn't mean they will. For me at least the appeal of playing Clementine is the mixture of her remaining innocence and that is now somewhat hardened by what has happened to her. I think if they make her any older she'll lose that innocence.

Some people have over-exaggerated the time skip slightly and playing as 11 year old Clementine is great. The only reason i don't want too many large time skips is because i like Clementine the way she is and want to see for myself how she adapts to the world, if she gets separated at the end of season 2 and it skipped to 13 year old Clem alone and she turned into a tough lone wolf survivor like Molly without me deciding that was the route i wanted to take her character i would be really disappointed.

  • Not necessarily, she can just get even more matured without losing her moral code. Christa is actually a good example, an independent woman and harsh sometimes who never stopped caring for Clem, despite Omid's death.

  • Of course she'll lose that innocence, it's called growing up. This is not Peter Pan's tale.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who's glad to see Clem is maturing.

  • I don't like time skips when there's still so much story to work with. Its only good to do a time skip when the story comes to a stand still. I hate how they cut out what happened to Crista's baby.
  • i would HATE it,most of the timeskips feel rushed to drag the story along,a 2 week time skip is the most i'd do.theres probably pros and cons for the skips but just look on what has been missed out on due to timeskips.
  • You seem to like dicks a lot. Is there something you want to tell us, billwilliams?

    You're on fire, aren't you?

Judging by how many times you replied with that quote, I can tell you really want to try it yourself. Don't give up, keep trying! Since you'll never experience it the other way around:).

  • I think that a 10 year skip would be better. See a grown up Clementine with new people 10 years later.
