Carver's Unnatural Resilience?

Despite loving all the episodes for the most part, One thing really caught my attention. Does anyone else notice how much abuse Caver can take? It's a bit odd,

1. He gets shot directly in the shoulder, he survived, understandable. But after they leave the lodge he acts like it never happened, heck, he walks proudly after that. (He also slaps Clem with the same arm...)

2. He also somehow manages to survive a bullet to the face AND can still go on like nothing happened, he talks, frowns, everything...What's up with THAT?

I'm guessing this could be just a stupid thing on my part to say (Which it is since I have no idea why they did this, Besides maybe wanting to make Carver seem tough.) So I apologize for any inaccuracies

  • Both shots are determinant (they dont have to happen which is why there is a lack of an effect)
The shot in the shoulder did seem to hit the shoulder but it could be shurgged off I suppose I mean Kenny got shot in the ugt and was fine in season 1

The other shot t was in the lower neck not the face.... and with a weird small pistol (what was that anyway)

Carver was never shot in the face. But rather in a similar place Andy was shot.

I also found it a bit weird that Carver showed no concern about that bullet in the shoulder. But I guess that wasn't such a powerful rifle and I think the thickness of his jacket played a role in it as well(I could be wrong, though). When they arrived at the camp I think it's safe to assume he had Carlos take a look at it.
  • I was thinking about the Kenny thing as well, but Kenny remained hurt for the finishing of Episode 2 and for a large part of Episode 3.
Could very well be the case that they are determinant but it still seems really odd for him to just shrug it off, maybe it's just me. but I remember
getting shot with a Red Ryder as a Kid and that hurt for a LONG time and that was only a BB rifle!

My mistake, though wouldn't that mean he wouldn't be able to talk so well? Maybe I'm looking to much into it...
Looks to be a modified flare gun or Derringer, hard to tell without getting a better view of the model.

  • Priorities.
  • Wasn't Andy shot in the ear? I believe so, then again last time I played S1E02 was back in early December for my Season 2 Hype playthrough.

I'll give you that one, still seems a bit odd he was walking fine and using it fine even before getting back to the camp (You're probably right, I'm pretty stubborn haha).

Hmm...I agree about the power of the rifle, as Firewall mentioned, Kenny seemed fine albeit hurt.
Though there is one issue, the rifle seems to change power between episodes, in SE20E1, Pete was talking about and says it's powerful enough to "Knock you on your ass' though he could be referring to Clem being little.
and seems to Kill walkers fairly well, Who seem to be able to take a lot more flak than say..a human.

  • Yeah, yeah, whatever, but can we just talk about how quickly he died for a sec?
  • It is understandable, his face WAS smashed in with a crowbar. Kenny IS pretty strong. Or do you mean how trigger happy telltale was with killing him off? If so, that sort of pissed me off too.

  • Yeah, i meant the latter. I mean, remember how we all thought he will kill so many motherfuckers and be awesome and evil and get some major character development, possibly a backstory, and die only at the end?

    And then, poof, bye, Carver.

Telltale kicked the fandom in the shins mercilessly.

And, i mean, they said there were SO many guards, and the place was very secure, and Carver kept everything under control, and then Clem shows up, and boom goes everything Carver built up for, i think, more than 9 months, considering Rebecca's pregnancy as a clue to the time.

It kind of pissed me off, too.
