Remove the False Release Information

edited May 2014 in General Chat
I think it's well known that Telltale has an abysmal track record when it comes to releasing their episodes in an orderly fashion. I can understand why that's the case, them working on 3 or 4 different series at once at the moment. What I'm not OK with is that they are putting false information regarding their products on the site. On The Walking Dead Season 2 store information page in frequently asked questions it says that the episodes would usually be released 4 to 6 weeks apart. This has not been the case at all with episodes 2 and 3 and instead took around 11 weeks and 10 weeks respectively in between releases. At this point this information is just straight out lying to potential customers about when they can expect to receive their product, 2 out of 4 periods between release being much greater is not "usually 4 to 6 weeks."

Even if they stick to this schedule from now on (which I highly doubt) that information is still fraudulent. Ideally I would hope for the next episodes to be release actually on time but I think that would be unreasonable. All I want is for them to remove that information from the store page, as lying to potential customers about your product is manipulative, deceitful and illegal in most industries.

  • That has needed revision for a long time coming. 4-6 weeks is laughably inaccurate.

Yeah, I agree they should change the timetable stated in the FAQ to a few months (and hopefully they will for future seasons, if they decide to put a timetable on their FAQ), since it seems they greatly underestimated the usual development time of the episodes.

They might manage to release the next episodes within six weeks from this point though, since the first season of The Walking Dead reached the 6 week mark by the end of the season.
