edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
walking dead episode 3 has a 82 on metacritic and a 8.3 user score

gamerankings.com gave it a 83.50%

based on the evidence Episode 3 was a very well received episode however there are those in the telltale community forum who disagree

so whose right Game Critics or those in the telltale community

Well it did just come out, I can tell it's probably going to be pushed down to 80% soon enough. Thanks MetroGameCentral. Say how "Stellar" Season One was yet gave all the episodes average scores.
  • Who is right, the people getting paid to give their opinions, or the people playing the game because they love the series?
  • Well, the review sites are all a SINGLE person who reviews it, and sometimes, especially IGN, they take bribes.
Not many people liked this episode, as evidenced by the people on TTG forums, who are REAL fans and not paid critics.

It should be noted though the fans are always the hardest people to please.

  • Not many people liked this episode? Really? From what I have seen, the vast majority did.

  • There's only one way to decide. A fight to the death.

Do IGN actually take bribes or is that just a myth? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I sincerely doubt IGN take bribes. They're very overhated. They don't deserve the amount of shit they get. Granted I'm not fond of them either, but I don't hate them.

To be honest I thought this was the worst episode out of both season's

Some parts felt rushed and part of the written was bad, These are only 2 examples

I like this episode. The only thing that bothers my is how much it takes to finish it. It take me only 1 hour and 43 minutes to finish this episode but they should make it at least 2 hours long. Not everyone dislike this episode but you're right that many of the fans don't like it for some reasons. I think it's 50/50 in fight like vs. dislike. ;)

  • MetroGameCentral review has already been counted it was one of the 3 mixed reviews on metacritic vs the 17 positive reviews

plus the reviewer liked episode 3 more than episode 2 despite the fact he gave both of them average reviews

  • And the reviewers that don't give a damn about TWD and gives it a 9/10 review is a higher priority than us?

We're not hard to please. Die-hard fans that are all "pfft, this sucks cuz I disagree" is a total stereotype made popular by immature youtube ranters. I want to see Season 2 blossom into something that I can be proud to say I enjoy, but after Ep. 3 I can't see myself agreeing that it was at least on par with the other episodes.

That's not what I meant, stop taking what I said out of context.

I disagree also, ever since I joined here (which was nearly 4 years ago) I've seen most of Telltale's projects get quite the criticism by the fans. Even TWD Season One had it's fair share of fans who wanted things to go this way but instead went that way. It isn't a a stereotype either and I'm even wondering how you brought this up, fans are more cynical. Especially around here of all places because they LOVE the projects more. So when they see things that didn't go the way they wanted it to, they get angry and started spewing out nonsense of them being the worst episodes ever.

  • It's all just opinions. Like what you like and damn the dissenters.
  • What else could you mean by "the fans are the hardest people to please?" All we want is to enjoy the episodes. Feel like the time spent waiting is worth the time playing. When the time playing is less than 2 hours, and the amount of time "playing" compared to "watching" is less than 15% of the episode, then we feel screwed over, especially when there's an apparent lacking in the actual story-telling compared to plot-development.

  • EVAR. Yes, it's a common thing. That is kind of sad, because it could make TT disregard our opinion more easily.

  • I think the issue is that we could see how this episode will play out. We were expecting to get in Carver's camp, see it as a shithole and get out. Even if you saw NOTHING, no sceenshots, trailers or achievements, you could still work that out. We had months to plan the episode.

The critics, however, just jump into it blindfolded, no preconceptions, other than the next time on the walking dead segment.
